PearlMATE-Studio-12-07-26-2024-full_amd64.iso
Released 07-26-2024
No username or password required for Live Session or Install
If needed while running in live mode the username=live password=live.
As with all Pearl Linux release we highly recommend doing your very first update after install from terminal. To do so simply open terminal and type:
"sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get full-upgrade"
When Installing system the calamares installer requires a safe password. We recommend at least 10 charactors at least 1 Cap letter and some numbers and or symbols. After installation if you would like to use an easier password feel free to upon first boot change your password from command prompt. To do that do as follows from terminal do "sudo passwd your_username" you will then enter the password you used to install then ask you for new password. It will complain if your password is not secure but will allow it.
Use Gnome-Disk-Utility or PearlStick or your choice of many other other utilities to place the iso file on USB disk.
When using the Pearl User Manager it requires an accual root password which by default is not set due to using sudo.
To manage user and groups their are two other options available in the control center one is the mate user manager under administration section the other is users and groups under look and feel. We recommend this one.
When using Pearl Samba Config use user and groups to make sure your username is in the sambausers group. If you still have any problems with this software go to terminal and do " sudo smbpasswd -a your_username" enter your password then two more times same password. Then Reboot.
As for using wasta-remastersys with the ability to create a iso larger than 4G and you are using the lighter version you will want to uninstall genisoimage the install mkisofs. To do this from terminal do: "sudo apt-get remove genisoimage" It will pull a few extra files with it no worry, then do "sudo apt-get install mkisofs wasta-remastersys" that should do it.
If you downloaded the second release which is largewr than 4G your already set as far as whats needed to create that +4G iso.
Thats it ...Enjoy
