I've used this since shortly after its inception and love it. The new Apple weather menu bar item is NOT a replacement at all, so I hope development continues on.

I would like to thank the devs for taking on and continuing the Meteorologist project. I've been a user since its early releases many, many years ago. When the original project started to fail (I can't remember which version macOS that happened on), I tried several alternatives, none of which were a good replacement. Meteorologist has the simplest, yet most complete view of the weather. Having said that, Apple's new Weather menubar item is NOT a replacement for Meteorologist. First, it does NOT do personal weather stations (PWS) which for me, is a must. Second, it does not have the conciseness and simplicity of Meteorologist. When I saw the release note today for version 4.0.6, my heart sank reading the comment about Apple Weather menubar being a replacement. I whole heartedly disagree. Please reconsider that stance. Thanks once again for all the hard work you have done to keep Meteorologist up-to-date and running smoothly.

I chose Meteorologist because I wanted something simple: the current weather in the task bar where I wouldn't have to click. I got more or less exactly that, plus a bunch of cool other features. Very well designed, easy application. The only unfortunate thing was that the weather updates tended to lag fairly far behind (2 ish hours) even when I selected to update the weather every 15 minutes so I got more of a "general feel". Great stuff. And it's cheap as free.
