  • Very powerful search tool, currently can only use grepWin-2.0.7_portable.exe due to company restrictions. However, I am trying to run grepWin command line in unattended mode. I have 400 strings (of db table name) to check if referenced in any of the code, but cannot output to text file with "> output.txt". grepWin create a blank file, even though there were some searched output. I am using parameters "/execute /executesearch /closedialog /content". Is this correct?
  • I tested 10-15 free replacers. GrepWin is the winner, It is the quickiest windows replacer from the all. Keyword here is 'quick', reliable too. It's quick for lots and lots of files. It regexes it quickly single-line like it's space-wormhole. I just created account to say thank You to 'Stefan Tools', it's great software, it's been quick and reliable.
  • Why utf8 support if it can only search for English text? in docx and odt even the English text does not find. Verdict - the program is useless.
  • A must have app. If you used grep you like it more and more...
  • Works great. Really wanted a windows GREP
  • Really helpful software.
  • great
  • Excellent product. A pity: that Zero-width lookbehind assertions only work on fixed length expressions. Love that you can not only refer to named subpatterns by their matching result (${name}), but also by their expression (?&name).
  • Good software, congratulations
  • Why do we need this program if it can search only for txt files? The same Notepad ++ searches for more extensions. In my opinion, a useless program. It requires the ability to search by documents - doc, docx, odt and others.
  • Most handy for all types of grepping need!
  • nice work. Almost The best Regex Editor. It will be THE VERY BEST, only when you will make a Batch Processor for running multiple expressions in a specific order.
  • Speed is fantastic
  • Best tool on Windows for grepping!
  • The very best thing about grepWin is rigor. If the string can be found, grepWin finds it - or it tells you it can't open the file. The second best thing is speed. My systems run from SSD arrays, and I always disable indexing, because I know I can do a rigorous search instead with grepWin in a short amount of time.
  • Awesome GREP for Windows users
  • Very good tool, that I don't want to miss anymore. It works like a charm!
  • I use this all the time. I just installed on 4 new machines! I love the RegEx (wish they would put a link to a RegEx Builder Site on the page) <br> "((select)|(Select)|(SELECT)).*".*(&) <br> It's not perfect but that helped to find some remaining places where some idiot left the site vulnerable to SQL injection.
  • easy, fast.
  • I use it every day for code search on my computer.
  • very easy to use. perfect tool for me :)
  • grepWin has been great but I just spent 3 hours figuring out that it sometimes won't find text in a file. If you are not getting the results you expect for a search, be sure to check if any files were skipped. If one or more than you expect WERE skipped, restart you machine and run grepWin again. What's so bad about this is you have to check skip status for every search knowing which files should be skipped, unless you are willing to trust grepWin. Is this an Other People's handles or BOM thing?
