It has 5 operations types that can be configured and combined to offer you thousands of different ways to rename your files. All it needs is Java runtime 1.6 or higher installed on your operative system. You can download Java by following the link: http://www.java.com. The operative systems Mac OSX 10.5 and higher don't need the java installation because they have one natively.
