Started using PSK about 18 months ago. Looked at several programs, Digipan, HRD780, AirLink Express, MixW and fldigi. I used Digipan for a year but kept experiment with other software for more depth (and newer) programs. HRD780 has WAY more features than I needed or wanted to learn. AirLink Express is a nicely updated Digipan meaning simple to use and some nice deluxe features. The Russian heritage of MixW made me hesitant. Then a ham friend talked me into taking another look at fldigi. After a few hours I was sold. Almost everyday I find a new feature that I didn't know it could do. It is obvious that this program was written by hams that use digital modes. Once, during an upgrade, Windows failed to link the com ports correctly. I posted a note on the Yahoo Group and was immediately answered by Dave W1HKJ, one of the developers. He got me going again..Can't beat support like that! And Dave's group does all of this for FREE!

UI is counter-intuitive; the amount of show stopper bugs is huge for a mature piece of software like this. Crashes if a wrong button is pressed.

Unfortunately, the AndFlmsg app has no message history.

I have been a FLDIGI user for at least a decade. I love the ease of upgrading. In short, the FLDIGI suite just works.

Windows has flagged the most recent version of FLGRIG as containing a virus. Please advise.

I have Windows 11 and for the past several days I have downloaded the Fldigi program for my Yaesu FTdx-10. When I click the desktop icon it takes between 2-4 minutes for the program to start. When I try to access any of the settings the program seizes up and states that the "program is not working." It takes another 2-4 minutes for it to start working only to repeat the process again. I have uninstalled the program several times and reinstalled it only to have it do the same thing each time. I presently have wsjt-x installed and it works flawlessly with my radio. Any help would be appreciated. PS. Fldigi work fine on my Mac.

Hi, I am using a Mac Mini with Apple M2 chip running MacOs 15.0.1. Fldigi still does not open on this platform; It opens and immediately closes. I hope you can fix this; I really miss this app.

The latest version of FLAMP (2.2.13) does not seem to be able to send selected blocks such as from a fetch operation. I cannot find an older version to install in its place.

It works well. I tried for two days to connect this to the IC-7300.

I'm running FLDIGI on Ubuntu 22.04.03 on both Dell i7 Latitude and on Raspberry Pi 400 and on stupid Windows 11. The Linux machines are definitely better for audio. (1) Windows does not automatically give me audio. I have to keep screwing with it then eventually i get audio after about a half hour. All sliders are maxed and the only audio I can hear with the "monitor" function of my 7300 is very faint and no ALC. A real mystery, Happens every day I try to use it. Until I happen to do something (???) and then I get audio. (2) Raspberry Pi was running it very well. Then, after weeks of running well, it started taking 1-1.5 seconds to move the mouse and the water fall was slow. No issue with FLRIG. It runs fine with out FLDIGI running. As soon as FLDIGI is started, the Raspberry Pi slows to a craw. Unusable. Then, out of the blue it ran great one night on Olivia net. Now its back to a craw. Tried removing FLDIGI and re-installing. In both cases I installed from repository using apt and apt-get. Current version is 4.1.20 I down loaded the latest version from sourceforge. However, the tar scares the crap out of me. I don't want to build the task. a deb would be great.

Have been trying to install and run Fldigi 2.4.0.0. It wants to start, then shuts down. No error code or message. I am running it on a Win 8 computer. I first downloaded and ran Fldigi about 3 years ago, no problem. I do not know if this is being caused by a Win update of some sort, or if it is the Fldigi. Bottom line: can not get it to run. Help! Thanks, John/KA5SWC

No installs downloaded for windows 11 64 bit September 2023 will not install period. Compatibility or not. Why the authors continue to use EXE for install and not msi that microsoft does not like is beyond me. Edge for last few years always flags fldigi.exe and you have to fight that and still not get installed. Now i see less and less digital signals being used and it may be contributed to this. This program was king but until installs get worked out im done with it. Other options for users get an older computer. Windows 10 is done in 2 years from now. Then we all enjoy windows 11 versions not installing. Fun while it lasted.

Love this project! The current version (14.1.16) will not work Mac OS X Big Sur (11.0.1), but the beta version (4.1.16.02) seems to work ok. Thanks to the team for addressing this issue so quickly!

The responsiveness of the Dev Team via groups.io is superior.

Thank you for a great piece of software, and for the support.

FLDigi does everything I need for the non-WSJT-X modes. The author is very responsive to bug reports and feature enhancements. Design-wise had to drop it 1 star mainly because the complexity makes the software a little difficult to use/understand and as such the 600+ page manual makes for daunting reading. Mike

fldigi-4.1.04.01_x86_64.dmg and fldigi-4.1.03_x86_64.dmg will not install on Mac El Capitan / 10.11.6: "no mountable filesystems". To build from source, you will need FLTK, I don't know how to build that from source. Also, how do I contact the Fedora builders regarding bugs in the Fedora release? The Fedora 28 builds are not working either: fldigi crashes when flmsg is started. This is fldigi 4.0.01-1.fc28 and flmsg 4.0.7-1.fc28.

Brilliant software. The complete suite surely will test the most knowledgeable in amateur radio. It does require one's full attention and a basic understanding of ham radio theory across all bands and various methods of communication currently in use, however, any beginner can start off slowly working in the HF band using only one protocol. A personal computer or laptop hooked up to a ham rig, pre-configured and synced with the fldigi's many available programmable functions allows visual on-screen waterfall monitoring to locate present hotspot activity simultaneously within or across an entire band, and make contact using the personal computer's keyboard and mouse. For those who are shy, no voice communications are ever necessary. Also, no gigantic antenna tower is needed either. Fldigi works from inside an apartment with an internal antenna and can connect with operators thousands of miles away on ten watts of power, 25 watts typical, 100 watts max. It's very sensitive and anything more than 100W transceiver power is highly discouraged. Multiple tutorials and help are available on-line at YouTube and also included with the packages. It can be a bit challenging at first but easy enough to start making contacts all over the world almost immediately, and multiple protocols almost always work even when vox is quiet . Fldigi is well worth any effort we put in to it. Thank you, W1HKJ, for making this incredible open source gem available to all and free for life.

Great software. I just wish it would get ported to run on iOS as well as support FT8, JT65, JT9. It would be amazing to be able to run this from an iPhone for SOTA & field day.

fine app for any case. I love to use it for reading the high-speed cw. and it works fine. Even if the Operator gives "with left foot".
