Saros - Distributed Party Programming for Eclipse ================================================= The Saros Team is proud to announce the release of version 12.7.6. This release brings you a couple of cool new features. [Performance] Various changes were made to reduce the data that needs to be transmitted during a session. [Improvement] Several improvements were made concerning the GUI. In the buddy context menu everything has icons now and the items which are used most of the time move to the top of the context menu. The amount of information and the way it is presented to the user was further improved. An example would be the progress dialog which is now displayed when files are sent during a session. [Improvement] The whiteboard can now save its contents to an image file and can now correctly transfer special characters. Additionally, you will find some important fixes. Check out the changelog below for more information. IMPORTANT: This update breaks compatibility with previous versions of Saros. You should not use this version of Saros with previous versions. Many thanks to users who participated in our survey and to everyone who helped us improve our plug-in! CHANGELOG ========= [PERFORMANCE] Various changes to reduce the size of marshalled objects. This is reducing the data that needs to be transmitted in a session. [FEATURE] Sending a single file during a Session now shows a progress dialog [FEATURE] Session participants are now listed only in the Session list and removed from the buddylist [FEATURE] Improving aesthetic aspects of the buddy context menu [FIX] #3539687: Default chat server denies room creation [FIX] #3489409: No project exists with this name to update from. The finish button is now enabled if an existing project can be used for synchronization. [FIX] Dropdown of saved selections in the resource selection was not updated after adding a new selection. [FIX] #3512781: Zip / Unzip takes too long. The SharedResourceManager was enabled during decompression, this led to unwanted activities creations which delayed the decompression. [FIX] #3515619: File list size is too big. Instead of saving every file with its full path a complete tree is now build, containing each element only once. [FIX] #3348949: Correct but confusing inconsistency message. Users can no longer proceed until all dirty editors used in a shared project are saved. Affected editors will now be closed and reopened after the synchronization. [FIX] Recovery is now restoring files correctly. [FIX] #3539670: Cancellation of initial invitation does not quit the session [FIX] #3524623: Bad UI behaviour for Saros view to open when Eclipse starts [FIX] Adding a physically existing project to session. This should fix a failure that occurs if one participant previously removed a project without deleting the underlying files and folders and reuses the name of this project in a subsequent session. [FIX] the Finish button is no longer needed to be pushed twice [FIX] #3514797: Add XMPP account, No proper validation. There have been no validation messages on the "add xmpp/jabber account" wizard if the user mistyped his/her xmpp id. [FIX] #3514674: "joining..." remains forever on 3rd participant [FIX] Auto-connect is now only performed if it is enabled.
