    installer is under heavy development, issues may happen. installer should be stabilized during this week. I don't use any "setup.exe constructors", I'm using .msi installer (the right way to install Windows apps), but I'm almost not even familiar with any of Windows technologies, so this is mostly trial and error way for me. unfortunately, .msi is too sensitive to changes, any these changes do not only affect new installer, but also what was already installed, and sometimes this produces very unexpected results. to make upgrade process smooth, both previous and current version must be installed using the installer built in the same way. this is not a just "extract and replace files" (like almost any "setup.exe" does, that's why they have "uninstall.ini" or other files to track anything copied and corresponding "uninstall.exe", but note - I don't have it - it is not required at all), this is a very complex process. old installer sources are unusable as is (and also it is know that they contained some issues I was aware of), and even more they assumed many manual steps I wanted to avoid (now installer is automatically generated on build server, how it should be). now my primary goal is to collect early feedback, many experimental things are uploaded, sorry for inconvenience and thanks for reporting.

    new (next) version was written from scratch, and it is under heavy development, so many things are still missing, only basic functionality is available. I just published it in hope to get any early feedback. +/- same functionality will be available in ~3-4 months (March-April). but even now, new version has more customization options and incredible font rendering quality (old clock even can't be compared to it). old skins are completely supported (this was the one of primary goals), and even can have advantage of new "font-like" skin engine, what was not possible in old clock and imposed constraints on what can be represented by skin. the only big missing part is plugin system, but in old clock it is just a set of various "hacks and wheels" accumulated with time. new one even not designed yet.

    Very good customizable desktop clock, has great font support and with the opacity set just right it blends perfectly.

    thank you! new (next) version was designed to have great font support (compared to old one), it is almost (but not completely) identical to regular font rendering. it was thoroughly tested with a lot of "fancy" (aka "Photoshop") fonts to be sure that everything is fine.

    I just updated Digital Clock 4 from 4.7.8 to 4.7.8+. The tiled font texture is an outstanding feature as I run zoomed at 386% with a special downloaded free font family IBM Plex. Unicode works great using the 'Quick note' plugin included with Digital Clock 4. I can't believe how customizable Digital Clock 4 is. I am totally satisfied and I haven't felt that way in many decades.

    Wonderfull Software; very easy to use Only one small problem. I want to use two instances (one with local time and the other with other time zone). That works well, but after a restart only one (the latest) will be restored. Is there a trick?

    you should use 2 copies (not just instances launched from the same copy) of Windows portable version. it is impossible otherwise, sorry... with next major version multiple time zones support will be "out of the box".

    Review Updated: Five stars... it's got seconds AND military time! Thank you for the reply. :-) I can't believe with all the 938583934 features you don't have the option to add seconds. Unless I missed it and it's buried? Features seem jumbled and all over the place and I looked twice for that option. Please add seconds and this will be a good destop clock. I do like that it stays on top of the screen saver.

    seconds are supported! just change time format to any that contains "ss"

    I absolutely LOVE this program. I run it as a digital clock in the lower left corner of every of my 4 connected screens. It shows hours:minutes:seconds and the day-month-year. It is very customizable, so I'm sure everyone will find a way to make it work to his or her own liking. THUMBS UP!

    Very handy clock (well, the best I found) with great rendering. I would have paid for it because it’s so handy. I use it mainly as a clock but it’s a beautiful clock. Too bad development is stopping and I thank the developer for sharing is work.

    This tiny little application is a must-have for every PC user. Extremely easy to use with many, many options for size, transparency, color, sounds, fonts, and so much more. Having the choice to display the current time on top of every running app on the desktop - streaming videos or full screen movies, too - keeps me aware of my agenda and any wasted minutes (I'm talking to you YouTube). I've only used Digital Clock 4 on Win 10 Pro, but it is also available for the Linux OS. It utilizes almost no CPU and less than 50 MB of memory. Oh, and no glitches, crashes, and no ads. Perfect!

    This desktop digital clock is darn near perfect !! I've used the windows 3.1 style clock on my desktop for years on 32 bit windows. I have other programs I use for alarms and scheduler and time tracking, etc. I wanted a simple digital clock that didn't try to satisfy every possible need and do none of that well (i.e. I didn't want almost any other clock available). I'm so glad I found Digital Clock 4. It presents a simple yet configurable digital clock, which can be configured for no borders, no background (so it blends in seamlessly with any desktop wallpaper). Its available in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions. And if you want to add to its features (such as alarms and other things) there are about 20 plugins that come with Digital Clock 4. Its relatively easy on Ram usage, around 60 mb and uses almost no CPU ticks. A beautiful, elegant, and simple design. Highly recommended !!!

    Easily configurable stay on top digital clock! Works as described. Only one drawback is that it does not stay on top of extended monitors. Other than that, very well designed.

    This is a great product and replacement for Windows Desktop Widgets. I wish there where more plugins though like a weather plugin, cpu plugin, hardisk and so on. Take a look at Conky!
