Native Weasis installers

The native installers (msi, deb, rpm, pkg) replace the weasis-portable.zip package and no longer requires Java to be installed on the system. It also serves as a basis for launching Weasis from a web context using the weasis protocol.

Portable Weasis Version (deprecated)

Just unzip weasis-portable.zip and run it on Windows or Linux. For Mac prefer the native installer.

• This distribution can be copied in DICOM CD-ROMs or removable devices as a stand-alone viewer. See FAQS (Can Weasis be incorporated in DICOM CDs or other removable media?)
• The viewer loads automatically directories configured in "weasis/conf/config.properties" (weasis.portable.dicom.directory=dicom,DICOM,images,IMAGES)

Note: this distribution requires that a Java Runtime Environment (JRE 8 or greater) be installed on your machine to run.

Packages of the Web distribution

• weasis.war Web distribution wich run with Java Web Start or to upgrade the local installation for minor releases (all the plug-ins except the launcher).
• weasis-ext.war Optional package for exporting the images to build an ISO image for CD/DVD
• weasis-i18n.war Optional package for Weasis translations
