Rewritten in Swift and fixes the issue with corrupting the dark mode setting (https://github.com/sindresorhus/dark-mode/issues/3). https://github.com/sindresorhus/dark-mode/commit/0277309bcab57e228f10abc67a9f8e9437641770

Note that the commands have changed, so take a look at dark-mode --help or the readme before using it.

If you have used the previous version, I would recommend downloading Panda.app, right-clicking its menubar icon and selecting "Reset Dark Mode Settings". This will fix the corruption so this new version and the System Preferences setting can work properly.
