This is RMIR v2.12.8, which makes two updates to v2.12.7. The main update is to the included version of jni4net that is used to communicate with Bluetooth-enabled remotes such as the URC-7980 and URC-7880 through the Windows WCL interface that uses the Bluetooth support built in to Windows 10. The version of jni4net in RMIR v2.12.7 and earlier does not work with Java 11 and higher. This update removes that limitation, so the Windows WCL interface can now be used with all Java versions supported by RMIR, which are Java 8 and all later versions. Bluetooth communication with the BLED112 dongle already works with all supported Java versions and is not affected by this change.

The other update in this release is a minor fix to the text provided in a saved Raw Download that provides initial data towards the construction of an RDF. That text was a new feature of RMIR v2.12.7. As with that release, anyone who intends to ask for a new RDF to be created for a remote should install this build and use it to create the raw download file that will be asked for to assist in the RDF creation. Build 7 also added two new RDFs and modified the revised Setup.vbs of build 5 so that it no longer makes assumptions about the form of the JAVA_HOME value.

RMIR v2.12.8 is only available as a full installation package. It is installed simply by unzipping this package into an empty folder. Please note that for an installation to work correctly, this folder must not be read-only. For a Windows OS this means, in particular, that it should not be unzipped into a subfolder of the Program Files folder. If you want to preserve your settings from an earlier build of RMIR v2.12 then, after unzipping the package, copy the RemoteMaster.properties file from the installation folder of that version to that of this new version. In this case, however, you will need to use the menu item File > Set Directory to change the locations of the RDF, Images and AddOns folders from being in the old installation folder to the new one.

Note that protocols.ini includes no-repeat versions of certain protocols, primarily intended for use by Slingbox files. Due to the specialized nature of these versions, by default they are not loaded when RM or RMIR is opened. If you need these protocols, check the item "Show Slingbox protocols" in the Options menu of either RM and RMIR. These protocols will then be loaded in all subsequent invocations of RM and RMIR until this item is specifically unchecked.
