Absolute Linux version 14.2
released 9/18/2016
There is a 64 bit version:
absolute64-14.2.iso
and a 32-bit version:
absolute-14.2.iso
There is NO live-cd, these are straight-up installer files.
The installer is text-based and similar to Slackware's.
HOWEVER
there is an "Autoinstall" option
which will repartition and format the drive you select.
(No dual booting stuff -- the drive will be wiped.)
The 64-bit installer will partition/format in GPT
if you are booting to EFI.
The Autoinstall EFI installation does NOT use efibootmgr,
but instead installs to the default boot location:
elilo.efi -> /EFI/boot/bootx64.efi
elilo.conf -> /EFI/boot/elilo.conf
vmlinuz -> /EFI/boot/vmlinuz
There are certain advantages,
including the fact that my testing machine has a hinky bios,
so I had no choice.
You can, however, play with the settings if you use the installer
without the autosetup feature. In that case, you can reference
the Slackware installer instructions.
TO SUM THINGS UP,
ONLY INSTALL ABSOLUTE IF YOU DON'T NEED
WHAT IS CURRENTLY ON YOUR HARD DRIVE.
