ABCD is a Free and Open Source Software designed to support knowledge communities. The software is targeting libraries of universities and research institutes as well as smaller public libraries, documentation centra, musea and archives.

Any database structure can be created/modified/managed
Predefined databases in MARC, CEPAL and LILACS format
Loan module for registering users and managing loans on any catalog
Customizable OPAC (Online Public Accessible Catalogue) a any catalog with basic and advanced search forms
Supporting the networked library through meta search over other ABCD databases and external ISIS-based catalogs
Statistics module for management statistics on any of the databases
Support of electronic links and full text documents
Serials registration, cardex and union-catalog management
Basic, customizable web-portal with built-in Content Management System
Catalogs available to the OAI, using the OAI-PMH protocol
Role based management with high-granularity profiles creation
Based on ISIS technology, using the concepts from CDS/ISIS, WinIsis and other ISIS products
