Dear all, I search but don't find a solution. I need to use a smart card on the remote linux. The smart card is connected on the local Windows. Local smartcard on Linux is working, I'm able to use it on firefox. The goal is to have the smartcard installed on local PC to connect to VPN, then use XRDP (user/pass) to connect the remote Linux and under this Linux to be able to access the card information to connect to a website. In complete Windows environment, I'm able, with RDP to use the card on the...

I have a fresh LAMP system, with SSL enabled in apache2 using the (default) snakeoil certificate. I have been heretofore able to reliably access the system via xrdp. Today I replaced the snakeoil certificate with a Let's Encrypt certificate using certbot. That was the only change I made. Immediately thereafter, any xrdp session I try to initiate crashes a minute or two after authentication. Specifically, the client window just disappears. Having been summarily booted out by xrdp, I am unable to access...
I am not able to use, save, nor browse "saved passwords" from remote session. How can I give my session permission to see the saved passwords?

Hi, My name is Sam, and I am currently doing port forwarding to XRDP thru ssh on RHEL 7-8 Machine. With ssh tunneling and port forwarding, as you know , to RDP first we need to have ssh tunnel established. So I was wondering if we can use the credential of ssh to loginto xrdp. or , if we can allow xrdp without credentials. Note: only for XRDP without credential not for ssh or anything else. Best, Sam/
Excellent! That solved my xrdp black screen issue too. I created a generic account in centos8 then with these settings in xrdp.ini the problem was fixed coming from Win10 Education or Home editions to CentOS 8.3. autorun=mydomain [mydomain] name=mydomain lib=libxup.so username=hmeij07 password=ask ip=127.0.0.1 port=-1 code=20 Took many tries with other suggested solutions, none of which worked. But this post above solved the issue of "xrdp black screen". Thanks! -Henk
Hello, We are looking for a remote printing/printer redirection option to work with xrdp. Is there any update on when this will be implemented? Thanks
The above posts helped me resolve the blank/black screen when logging into XRDP from W10. But I only had the issue from my W10 work laptop and not my 2 home W10 computers, so I knew the issue was not the install. I resolved the issue by removing the domain name from the login credentials. The solution to include the domain name in the credential is to name the connection to the domain name you want, so you can login as "mydomain\username". [mydomain] name=Xorg lib=libxup.so username=ask password=ask...

Oh, wait: you "can still ssh into the system as any valid user, but xrdp (from windows mstsc) only works for the oritional userid", so that isn't the issue. Forget I said anything. :-))
Assuming that your users are not local to the desktop system running Xrdp, it sounds like that system is currently unable to authenticate them via the network. This can be tested by logging into the systen via SSH and then running "getent passwd". If you don't see any of the users you would normally expect, then you might want to start by troubleshooting the connection to your authentication server, be it LDAP, Kerberos or whatever.
Help, We had some permissions issues on a Ubuntu desktop system , and someone 'over fixed' them, and now xrdp doesn't work for any userid other than the origional admin userid. We can still ssh into the system as any valid user, but xrdp (from windows mstsc) only works for the oritional userid. Any idea what file we need to fix permissions on? My fallback fix is to just reinstall the whole system... more things may be broken than just xrdp. Our Ubuntu version/level is: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS. Prior to...
I'm using XRDP on some Raspberry Pi3. The installation and connection setup with my Mac Book Pro takes me a little bit more than one minute. While I have used the connection in the past with Windows clients only, I quickly experienced that my MAC keyboard was not recognized by “Remote Desktop for MAC” within XRDP. Over the last 2 weeks I'm searching for solutions in the internet and did follow their instructions without success. From my understanding Windows Remote Desktop for MAC (both version 8...
sorry to resurect, but this is the only hit on google for this issue. I'm getting a few days and then xrdp stops accepting mouse clicks. restarting xrdp resolves this. Logs show nothing, no errors I can identify.
Hi, I am using xrdp with Guacamole on a LinuxMint19 Xfce system: https://gitlab.com/Virtual-LTSP/VirtualBox Guacamole allows access through VNC as well as RDP clients, and on the server I install xrdp and xorgxrdp: https://gitlab.com/Virtual-LTSP/VirtualBox/blob/bionic/ltsp-server/scripts/guacamole.sh#L217 I notice this strange problem: When I login first from VNC (through LightDM greeter) and then I login through RDP, the XFCE desktop is configured properly (having the look and style of LinuxMint)...

THIS PROJECT IS DEAD. RIP!
Any suggestions? Build from source? Try any diagnostics?
The same thing happened with Fedora - 19 worked, 26-28 do not. Connects, then enter credentials, black screen and disconnect. Fedora comes with allow_users=anybody OOB but still does not work.
I am having the exact same issue with MsTsc.exe - black screen and a disconnect. Worked in Fedora 19, not working in Fedora 26-28.
srdp is not working in Fedora 26 and 28
a bump!
any ideas folks? :-)
I forgot to attach a screenshot. What would be ideal is if I could replace it with an image saying "Loading.." or something to control expectations but not show technical stuff to non-tech folks.
Hello everyone - I’ve searched quite a bit but can’t see an answer explaining how to suppress the gray connection log popup that is shown when someone uses xrdp to connect to a target box. I am using Apache guacamole to connect to a Ubuntu16 box over xrdp and every time I connect I can see a gray connection log popup. Any advice will be great about how to suppress this popup. If it cannot be suppressed can it be replaces with something else? maybe different text. Thank you all. -A
Hello! I'd like to ask what version of RDP protocol is implemented in current xrdp. Basically I'm trying to find out of the X1N RDP client is compatible with xrdp. Add hidden feature to docs PAM Auth to VNC Server.
Please close this ticket. This ended up being a Windows issue. Under remote desktop settings, if we set the Colors to "True Color (24bit)" we could view the VM's being powered on.

Hello, run xrdp with user root. security level is 1397966943 (1=none,2=standard) error- problem connecting what is problem?
I've got xrdp installed and running fine on RHEL7. Multiple users can connect from generic Win7 desktops. I have one user that is insisting he must use a Dvorak keyboard. I was able to change the default keyboard in /etc/xrdp but that was for all users. Is it possible to configure xrdp to support and switch between multiple keyboard layouts (per user?)

Hello I use to have xrdp 0.6 running with Xvnc and everything was great. I installed a fresh version of Xubuntu and installed xrdp 0.9.1 which use xorg instead of Xvnc. It works, but it gets laggy quite often and as this problem hasn't been clearly identified, i'd to switch back to Xvnc. However, choosing Xvnc in xrdp login screen gets me a "VNCerror - problem connecting some problem" message here's xrdp.log output: [20170426-21:46:53] [DEBUG] Closed socket 12 (AF_INET6 ::ffff:192.168.0.8 port 3389)...
