Thank you Muhamad!!! That helped a lot. I've noticed changes since... -select Extentions from menu or type edge://extensions/ -hit Developer Mode on left. -then hit Load Unpacked navagate to and load the extracted folder as above. -then, I think, restart Edge -then tell the Edge nag popup to not disable Developer Mode for 2 weeks (most I was allowed). -select the jigsaw icon in the toolbar and select the eye icon to show XDM icon in toolbar if you want. -ALL GOOD!!
You need to install the latest beta version and then use the menu in the program to install the browser extension. You might think you need to "register" xdm but that's just the program connecting the browser to the program. once you close your browser and restart it, you will see it works now and you don't "register" anything yourself. It's the program linking the browser. https://github.com/subhra74/xdm-experimental-binaries/releases/tag/8.0.11-beta
Can't reinstall Xtreme Download Manager
Xtreme Download Manager & Click to Add Button Removed From Store
XDM could not download the file as server sent an invalid response.
I'm downloading a program, LMMS, and the download comes from github. It keeps asking for a password when it shouldn't need one. Interestingly, this pauses the download, but it briefly unpauses when I click "cancel". In order to download this file I need to keep clicking cancel on the password prompt. What's going on?
Hello my friend. What version is it? that is beta, alpha.

Hi. You know what? NOTHING helped me! The ONLY method that helped was Windows reinstall. After reinstalling my Windows 10 (clean install) I installed the app and everything has been working OK. The only advise I can offer is do NOT change any XDM's default paths. I suspect that might be a source of the problem
There are two fixes I'm aware of for the issue. The first (not enough space on drive) is :- 1. Go to your download file in XDM 2. Right click on the file and go to "Save as" 3. Change the directory to a storage drive with enough space. The second (windows: file name too long) is:- *1. Follow the first two steps above 2. Now change the name of the file to a shorter one. *

Brave Browser Monitoring Disabled
you need to clear more space to allow the files to append as a whole ,so you need 50 gb space, you can later delete the temp files
All works for me except the scheduler. I set the scheduler to start at a particular time, I put downloads in that que, but they never start at that time. Any suggestions?

Several days have passed with no help from anyone in this forum, am a bit perplexed. Hope someone would cater some response to a debut questioner.
I had this same problem. I had to edit the ~/.xdman/config.txt I use micro as a text editor so in terminal I typed micro ~/.xdman/config.txt Then edited the last line to zoomLevelInde:0 I am not sure if a reboot was needed, but I rebooted and it worked.
I am also having a problem. I think I am at zoom level 6. I can't find the config file. Any help appreciated.
Hello, The error message "Failed to append/convert file parts, please check if the drive is full or write protected " is a bug indeed! And the bug is NOT at all related to insufficient disk space , write protect, etc.! This occurs on SOME sites ONLY!!! It is usually happening in this way: the download reaches 98-99%, then it stops for a while, and then this error pops up. I suspect , some devious sites just trick the excellent XDM manager, and it cannot finish downloads from those sites!
This same problem just eliminates usage of the app!!!! Fix it , PLEASE!! And the bug is NOT at all related to insufficient disk space , write protect, etc.!!! This occurs on SOME sites ONLY!!! Hello! I use linux mint cinnamon version 18.3 sylvia. Have downloaded /home/alza68/Downloads/xdm-setup-7.2.10.tar.xz. After a successful installation of the application on my laptop, am unable to open the application by clicking the icon on the menu or typing xdman without root in the terminal sprouts an error as follows, "xdman /usr/bin/xdman: line 5: /opt/xdman/jre/bin/java: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error". Any insights on the resolution of this mishap is greatly appreciated....
Hi Sir / Ma’am First thanks to your great work u have I like XDM. I have one problem when I am downloading videos, File, etc. but (Youtube, Mega) Generate Temporarily Link for download. That where my problem start to happen. Then sometimes it’s near to complete. Because of Low speed of internet or lose internet happen. Then link dead or change to a New one but the same File. Then Whatever I do like (Refreshing the link or pressing the download) but it doesn’t continue. (I am this issue so much I...
I agree with this!
my xdm wont covert twitch videos
I actually found a path to my other drives: /run/media/<username>/PartitionName or a Number if Partition is on default name</username>
I'm going to weigh in on this. XDM needs to be fixed so we can chose where everything is downloaded to. I personally do not like going to download a archived file and I have to navigate to the actual folder I want the item in. I do not want XDM auto chosing Compressed.
I went to the prefrences but it only allows me to choose anything under / folder I want to have my temp folder in a different drive that's used by my WIndows OS Any way to do it? Thanks in advance
Even after doing so the javasharedressources folder gets created in home directory after rebooting.
Lost downloads
cannot open xdm. error message: an older version of XDM is already running. I am using windows 10, just installed the latest version. I cannot find the older version in task manager, so not able to kill the older version.

That exactly why I made my SUGGESTION of turning it into a notification that goes away after x amount of time. If you add the download video option to the dropdown menu when you click on XDM's browser icon and just have a quick notification when the video is done would uniform it with other download managers, and notifications can always be turned off if you don't want them.
Thanks for sharing your opinion. I don't care much about Video DownloadHelper, I just want that "video download" window in XDM to "get lost". I'm fine with the rest of the functionality, but that "Download videos" window is just annoying and constantly in the way (even in the lower left corner of my screen).
Better suggestion would be to take a page from almost everyother download manager out there and have the progress sit in the icon in the browser and have to click XDM's icon in the browser to see the progress of the download. Take a good look at Video DownloadHelper which like XDM has a desktop companion. VDH only pops up a notification once the video is done downloading or if there was an error downloading. Another thing that needs to be fixed is the main download box. Once a download is started...
First of all, thanks for an excellent download manager. I've been using XDM for a few years, so I'm pretty familiar with it. It has saved me countless hours download times through the years. Anyhow, there is one to me very annoying feature, and that is the "Doanload window" used to download video files from YouTube and other video sites. Even if it's pretty small, no matter what I do it always ends somewhat up in the way in the bottom right corner, especially since it'll always sit on top of other...
Not Supporting video format
Hi. Is there a solution to this problem? I'm using Linux Mint 19.1 Tessa operating system. Thank you!
Hi, did you receive an answer to this question?
Hi Mr. @subhra74, I have the same problem. I took some video files through compressed mode to download from Google Drive. I selected some videos available on a Google Drive link and with the right mouse button, I selected "Download", and the download started automatically in XDM. So, it's a big file, and in the middle of progress download was interrupted out of nowhere. I choose "Resume" XDM option and it showed "Sever does not support resuming, please restart the download". It took me a long time...

XDM dpiscalling zoom not working
I am having the same problem in Windows 10 while trying to download MX Linux and Linux Mint. Both had the same error mentioned above. This doesn't happen for me in Linux Mint.
Conversion Problem
Nevermind. Found the solution in the forum. https://sourceforge.net/p/xdman/discussion/general/thread/240b4abfc6/#93cb
Disable "Download Video" button on browser pages
I uninstalled XDM2020 and went back to2018 which was working 2 days ago. Sa,e story on 2018, so I went back to the latest XDM 2020. Now the black arrow has changed to the familiar blue with the no entry over it. I have tried every trick in the book but that is what I get. Anybody with answers or suggestions.

Hello everyone I've always liked xdman but the fact that it use the home directroy to store it's dotfile annoyed the hell out of me anyway I will spare you the painful story of how I fixed this problem you just need to modify a line in your /opt/xdman/xdman file this is the executable file for xdman but if you inspect it it's just a bash script that contain this line: /opt/xdman/jre/bin/java -Dsun.java2d.xrender=false -Xmx1024m -jar /opt/xdman/xdman.jar we will change it to this: /opt/xdman/jre/bin/java...

the option to disable that nasty prompt was added in a recent version I don't remember which one. Anyway if you click the Settings menu (or Tools and then Options) on xdman you will find an option named "Disable floating 'DOWNLOAD VIDEO' popup" toggle it on. If you don't see this option that mean you are running an old version. If you already know about this and this is not what you are looking for than please explain your question more.
