#48 modifier key closes pattern select config window

tested with:
version 4.12.1
version 5.0.2

** error**
window configure "pattern select"
while entering a text in the text box Enter default filter:
using shift or alt or other mod keys closes the window.
so braces or some glyph requiring modifier keys cannot be entered, also no Ctrl+v copy paste.

workarounds
-type the text some other spot, then copy paste with linux middle click
-edit the config file with a text editor

I can reproduce the issue and it will be fixed in next release.
