All source code changes for last two years are slowly being pushed to SourceForge servers. It's only used as permanent backup since all development is now done using trees at http://svn.rot13.org/

Distribution 20040417 brings major improvement is speed of searching if you happend to select large result set (for example, entering just "a" for search string).

It also removes dependency on HTML::Pager and SWISH/SWISH::Fork modules, and uses just SWISH::API which comes standard with swish-e 2.4 versions.

Included in distribution is whole OpenIsis, allready pre-patched for required changes. That will greatly ease installation because you will need just this distribution and cpan shell to make it working.... read more

With 7 live webpac production installation, I must say that this project was more fun than I even imagined. However, recent problems with SourceForge infrastructure and lack of support for Subversion on SourceForge forced me to move my development tree elsewhere. However, I will provide direct access to it using viewcvs, and I will drop file releases here on SourceForge.

While this opensource project to create WebPac (Online library calatog using variaty of input formats) is going into production (we have 7 sites using it already), it's still not ready for stable release, mainly because it lacks complete installation documentation. There is a bunch of documentation, but user-friendly installation instruction is still something that has to be written.

On the other hand, SourceForge have big problems with CVS statistics: it doesn't show any CVS updates in statistic and CVS checkout can still be far behind development version.... read more

With addition of Excel and MARC file format, this project is ready to go into testing. We'll test it on our site, but we feel that it's mature enough to be used at other sites too... If interested, please contact us!

This project is side-effect of WebPac indexer -- I learned so much about perl and swish-e during working on WebPac so I decided to make smaller cgi interface to swish for general purpose web crawling and searching.

You can check-out it from cvs as 'swish' repository.

It's easy to install, includes own swishspider (which is somewhat modified version of old, easy to understand swish-e spider) and supports multiple font-ends with just one cgi script (and come symbolic links).

First milestone in WebPAC development has been reached. Using OpenIsis, XML::Simple, Text::Unaccent and Unicode::Map8 and (of course!) SWISH-E I have been able to duplicate functionality of prototype indexer (without user interface for now) in just under 10 hours of config total.

Also, just 207 lines of code (compare that to 603 from protoype which converted isis to MPS stream file) shows that: a) CPAN modules are good and b) simplicity counts.... read more
