I have spent the last time to port WebAddressBook to smarty, which seperates the gui from the program logic. This way you can create your own user interface, if you don't like the default one.
Webaddressbook has been ported to adodb (a database abstraction layer). The current cvs version works with MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQLite. If YOU are using the new version, I would appreciate some feedback.
I have just created a new mailing list for discussions about new features and their implementation.

I have just released the final version of Web Addressbook 1.0. This release comes with support for themes, different languages and an extension api. We can now develop extensions without creating a whole release. You may just download an extension and plug it into an existing installation of Web Addressbook.
Furthermore we have added a photo feature. You may add a photo for each of your contacts.
The first release candidate of version 1.0 has been released today.
