Project discontinued

After two years of inactivity I decided to officially discontinue the project. I might return to it or not.

Contact me in case you'd like updates to Warrior Arena.

For those who like ascii-based games I've got a consolation: I started a new project, "@'s Ascii Adventures" ("AAA"), an ascii platform-jumping game The project is not in SourceForge yet. Version 0.3A available!

New version available both as source and as a windows .exe (from now on, every major version will have a windows .exe)

New version includes a few bugfixes and 2 new features:

1. Colours:
Depending on your terminal, the current player, current team, the players of the current team that have already moved and the other teams all have different colours. Windows has some problems detecting colours but this shall be investigated and hopefully fixed in the future.... read more

Version 0.2C fixes the annoying "no more AP" bug.

A windows binary published for 0.2B. Thank you copx. Also, a makefile for the mingw compiler was provided by copx. Thank you again.

Here's the changelog:

text positions were changed

Armor Class no longer depends on the warrior. Instead, Armor gives AC. Armor is chosen just like weapons.

additions:

Armor has speed just like weapons

button "e" is now for skipping turns

Version 0.18A available!

bugfixes:

terminal size is now 80x25, not 80x26 as it was earlier. Lousy bug.
players can't escape the arena anymore

additions:

A message whenever it's turn for a new player
Ranged weapons cannot be used in cqb (close quarters battle)
Strength of ranged weapons is less when attacking from range > 4

Each weapon now has "speed".
Speed determines how many AP it takes to use the weapon
For example, if speed is 1 it takes 1 ap to use the weapon. If speed is 4, it takes 4.... read more

Version 0.15 available

Version 0.15 is now available. Here's the Changelog:

from 0.1

bugfixes:

pressing 'f' with no ranged weapon no longer causes to lose AP
after dying from ranged weapon % no longer appears a turn late
the turn of the player ends immediately after killing self
the "whole team is dead" message appears only once now
players shouldn't respawn on top of each other anymore

additions:

"succesfully hit with _damage_" changed to "_who_ hit _who_ with _damage_ damage"

Project started

Warrior Arena has been approved as a sourceforge project. Hopefully this will bring in many new end users, developers and especially ideas. The Project page will get more detailed in time.

Newly available version 0.1 is considered as the first version with enough features to see where the project is aiming at.
