vSentinel 0.0.2 (pre-alpha) is now available for download. There's a lot of cosmetic changes and a basic system for user-defined configurations in place. Docs are coming soon. Thanks to everyone so far for checking it out. I should be posting my plans for v0.0.3 in the tasks soon, but I strongly encourage any suggestions be sent to me. Just send me an email or post a message on the forum(I do check it). ... read more
vSentinel has been born! This is the very first release in a pre-alpha stage, meaning don't expect much out of it now. This release simply displays the foundation for vSentinel and some very basic functionality. But don't worry, updates will be coming quick as I have many ideas for new features and improvments. The initial alpha release of vSentinel (v0.0.1) is due roughly around the end of the year, perhaps a bit after. The tools will be limited in the release, but hopefully it will represent a solid foundation upon which some serious fucntionality can be built. Expect to be able to load, view, minimally query, and traverse a pcap formatted dump file (from tools like ethereal, tcpdump, etc...).
Soon as I get my task list finished, I'll release something, albeit basic. If I can stop adding things to the task list that is :)
As of 12/13/2006, vSentinel's initial code import is complete and available through CVS. A release should arrive relatively shortly, after a bit more planning, code, and cleanup. Screenshots of the pre-alpha environment will be up shortly.
