or a short explanation of usage. I have only been able to rename one at a time.
I'd have thought that one could drop a few folders with similar names, make changes to file names in the first folder and then do the same to subsequent folders with one button.

I don´t know if I fully understand you problem. You can drop and rename any number of files or folders at once. To rename files inside a folder you´ve dropped, just go to preferences – renaming – When dropping a folder: drop the folders contents.
I don´t know if that´s what you want to achieve.
I know the documentation is poor to say the least. I don´t have enough time as I only can develop free projects in my spare time.
thanks

is it possible to to drop files with names already changed and tell vR to follow that example?
No, sorry. The program needs a pattern to perform changes and cannot guess unless you explicitly tell it what to do.
I would be helpful if you could show an example of what you want to do,
Regarding the title rather than the solution to the OP's X/Y problem, does vRenamer have
manpages? It should if not.Last edit: Mr. Beedell, Roke Julian Lockhart (RJLB) 2023-09-23
