#52 Design documentation

On the forums there are some questions about the
design of VCF. I think this is because there is
hardly documentation about the design of VCF. The
only documentation is the Doxygen docs, but this
doesn't cover why VCF is using peers etc.

So is it possible to document those design desissions?
