I tinkered with Unicon a few years ago. I was interested in SNOBOL and came to it through Icon. From what I remember it didn't seem to have much a community, I just remember a page on a university website.
Looks like the project has come along way :)
I don't really have anything intelligent to say but I would like to stop by now and then to say "hi" and to check up on the action.
Have you ever considered setting up a "lounge" section for off topic posts?
I don't really want to go off topic but I don't want to drag down the main list or even the getting started one and a more casual place might be easier to post to.

For a long time we just used the maling list as the main form of comminication and discussion, we just recently activated the forums feature.We still don't have a lot of traffic here so we are not yet overly concerned about setting up new/more sections/forums or wether you are off-topic in a certain forum. Please use this or the General Discussion forums to post anything you want related to the project, and even if you are off topic. You are more than welcome!
