SVp-11 Solution Event Causes and SVp-12 Solution Risk Viewpoints Added

Two new TRAK viewpoints - specifications against which TRAK architecture views (in accordance with ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010:2011 requirements) have been added to the TRAK Viewpoints specification:-

  • SVp-11 Solution Event Causes Viewpoint
  • SVp-13 Solution Risk Viewpoint

These are a result of a long time activity to unite the description of system safety and system security using a common set of TRAK architecture description elements (tuples or triples from the TRAK metamodel). Some of the thoughts going back a few years can be seen in some of the documents in the files section of this site.... read more

TRAK Group on LinkedIn

There is now a group on LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com/groups?mostPopular=&gid=3256940) where topics concerning TRAK can be aired.

This in no way replaces any of the TRAK discussion forums on Sourceforge (http://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/trakviewpoints/ and http://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/trakmetamodel/) since LinkedIn is a closed community and TRAK is very much about keeping people informed and involved. It just seemed sensible to provide another means for folks to chat and also to discover TRAK.

Constraints Viewpoints Under Review

Currently there are 2 architecture viewpoints that address constraints OVp-07 (Operational Constraints) and SVp-10 (Solution Constraints). In addition there is the MVp-03 Standards viewpoint. What happens if you want to show requirements applying to the enterprise or capability? Indeed!

On balance therefore it seems better to have a single viewpoint for requirements rather than have 1 for each TRAK perspective. It looks likely therefore as if this should be the MV-03 Standards which does allow Requirements to be shown and there is a relationship between Standard and Requirement.... read more
