So to clarify to anyone reading this ticket, it seems like the original poster was installing the DirectX 9.0C but there are two common versions. One is for developers and would be called the 9.0C SDK (software developer kit). The other is the DirectX 9.0c End-User Runtime. (This was the case when I orginally wrote Techne). It is possible that installing the SDK may not make the operating system aware that the needed libraries are available for all applications to use. So normally the user would...

This was a fresh installation of Windows 7 32 Bit Professional. I reinstalled Directx 11 but the error message was displayed. I then installed Directx 9.0C but still the same error message. I tried a different Graphics Card stiil no change. I then opened the ticket after trying DXdiag which reported all was well with my Directx and received the above message which was greatly appreciated. The way Techne does 3D is it first tries to use DirectX 11, if it can't initialize then it looks for DirectX 9c. This is mostly for backwards compatability to Vista. The routines in Techne are not robust in trying to figure out exactly what problems might be with a DirectX installation. It does a few basic checks and then gives warnings of 1) wrong version, 2) not installed, 3) DirectX is missing features and so not supported. Joe, I modified Grbl code to divide your gcode Pxxx value by 1000, so you can close this ticket. I still have the 3D pop-up error about not having DirectX installed - using ATI Radeon 2100 Graphics Chipset on Acer desktop running windows 7 32 bit. That is a shame (because of all the work you put into the 3D view) and none of the previous discussion about intel integrated graphics is relevant in this case. Obviously DirectX11 is installed and working!
