Software Updata 1.0.0.2

A new version of both Software Updata and Software Updata Lite is available which fixes a critical bug when installing a single un-compressed file. The file would not get installed to the correct folder, but the software root folder instead. This bug applies to both projects.

Software Updata Lite 1.0.0.1 released

The new version has had a minor change to its Cache files system. A Cache folder no longer exists, but instead DLL's and other files are placed inside a temporary folder residing under %TEMP% which is deleted when SwUpdata is closed. This also means that all cache files are stored inside the EXE until it is run where the files are only then extracted.

Software Updata v1.0b (1.0.0.0) released

This is the first beta release of Software Updata. It took such a long time to get ready as college exams got in the way for a while. I then had to reschedule testing and try and remember where I had left off in development!

Progress

The first beta release of Software Updata is getting much nearer.

I'm currently working on this project and another one beside studying at college, therefore progress is slow. However, today I was able to test the entire system using the Hostile Intent Map Database (http://hmd.hostileintent.org) and everything is working properly. There's one small feature that I'd like to add, if I can, but if it's not available to use within a week or two (another developer is working on it), I'll go ahead and release without it (for now).... read more
