Load sudoku.xla, you will see a menu. In excel 2007 it is placed under the Addins tab.
(If not, you must enable macro's)

Open sudoku.xlt, copy the sudoku puzzle from a newspaper or magazine, press Mark.
Mark: marks every not empty cell as part of the puzzle.
Erase: will erase not marked cells - the solution of the puzzle.

There are two methods to solve sudoku puzzles :
Each digit may / must appear only once in each column, row and block.
may: stripeout used digits, result is a list with digits that may be possible.
must: some digits/cells are unique, will the puzzle be solvable that digit must be placed in that cell.
for both methods there are 3 buttons.
Celtip: color hint for easy to solve cells
Digit: an answer for one of those cells
Solve/Unique: solves the puzzle with that method
Total: uses both methods to solve the puzzle

Test: checks for double used digts, empty cells, more then one digit in a cell. Also checks if the digits/characters used are a part of the puzzle, therefore there is a list of characters stored in document properties (if not, default is 0..9).

In document properties you also find a Sudoku! signature. Whithout that every Sudoku! button will ask if you are sure to messup your excel document. It will ask only once, if you answer yes the Sudoku!signature is placed in the document. The template has already that signature.
