it seems like the sametime contacts don't indicate that conferencing is enabled for them and therefore conferencing is disabled for them.
Is conf still not available for Sametime contacts?
FWIW,conf does work for AIM contacts that have conferencing listed in there capabilities.
By conferencing do you mean N-Way (i.e. group) chat?
