Yes, you heard right, after some months of doing nothing (and with a homepage, that is, how should I put it... not very usable) I got an idea for another small tool to make YOUR life easier.
It's a tool for making indexes of your backup-cds (at least that is the use I use, of course, you can also index all your harddisk...) and is named "Indexer" (good name, eh?). It's now nearly completed.
There will be a console-version and a GUI-version of the program, but I have not begun the work on the GUI-version yet (the console-version is working fine).
Expect an upload to the "Files"-section of my project soon (this week, perhaps today or tomorrow).... read more
I've been working on that tool for a while now, but in that moment i think it is good to make it public!
The tool is named FileMan. It's a "Internet-Harddisk", a storage, where you can save files, for example, if they won't fit in an e-mail or if you just want to transfer between office and home, etc... I personally think it's very useful.
If you want to test this prog, go here:

I'm in the process of making the smallTOOLS available for download at download.com. (http://www.download.com)
There's already one tool available for download, it's named T2Start and is a tool for a game, that i produced (the tool not the game...). The game is named "Tribes 2".
In the next weeks all tools will be available for download there...

So, after a few (no, not really a few, but some more) weeks, i'm ready to program some things again. I'm currently working on a new tool called "DirTree", which is ready at present, but needs to be translated to English (it's in german now...). This program will output a tree of files in a directory with its subs... It has searching for a filename and HTML-output...
And, for the ones who are waiting, there will be the documentation of dirtree, I think.
And I'm working on a manager for the collection that will keep track of all tools you have installed and which version they have.
Stay tuned....... read more
I've make a new version of cabsearch.
It's totally rewritten. Now the program can REALLY extract the files and not only generate a batch-file. I'm currently uploading to my download-tool DownGen, but the files will be available during this day in packages, too.
If you can't wait then go to my homepage and download using DownGen.
Programname: cabsearch
Version: 1.0
Platform: Win32

The first real good news-item here;-)
smallTOOLS Collection is now at nearly 200 downloads.
The most downloaded programs are(in order):
1. cabsearch-0.9.1-win32-binary
2. xbootedit-0.9-win32-install
3. xbootedit-0.9-win32-both
Our programs now include:
-bootedit
a console-based editor for the winNT bootmanager
-xbootedit
the GUI version of the boot.ini-editor(see above)
-cabsearch

from a set of CAB-archives
-dirdiff

display the newest release of files... read more
I've today built the first installer for a program released by us.
The Installer used is the Nullsoft Installation System(NSIS) by Nullsoft (www.nullsoft.com).
I've built the installer for the Graphical NT BOOT.INI Editor (xbootedit). Please try it out and report any problems, suggestions, or other installation-systems.
P.S.: It has an uninstaller, too.
I've added the new tool DirDiff now. It's a tool to make two dirs the same. It's a very first release, so it's not documented yet, but that's coming. The documentation is, for now, in the release notes. Package distribution only!
Today I've made a BIG step on my homepage...
I've added Database-service.
The Programs-List is now directly getting its contents from a database...
And, I've updated the Nav-bar to make it clearer and more spectacular...
I've today released two new utilities.
The names are bootedit and xbootedit.
They are both editors for the NT BOOT.INI file that controls the behavior of the NT bootmanager.
The second one(that one with the "x") is a graphical version. The console-version has one option more: To restore the old state of the boot.ini.
But all two make a backup of the old settings.

I have added a new tool called "NT BOOT.INI Editor", that let's you edit the boot.ini that is configuring the bootmanager of NT interactively in the shell.
It's still in development and I'm going to make a graphical version, too, so stay tuned.
And I've updated the Homepage!(you know, it's at http://smalltools.sourceforge.net )I've added a list of the utilities included (it's called "The List") and download information.
I've now released the documentation for the CAB-Search utility. It's now on CVS at cabsearch/doc and there's also a package containing all three types of documentation. The documentation is available in the following formats:
HTML (doc.html)
TEXT (doc.txt)
Hyper Help (doc.chm)
Now I'm going to update the documentation-section in the project-home.
I have released the first utility of the smallTOOLS collection. It's called CABSEARCH. It's for searching a collection of CAB-archives for a file. The documentation is only TEXT at the moment, but HTML will follow. Perhaps I release also a binary-version of it. Now it's only a perl-script.
Type: system administration
Platform: Win32 (preferably Win9x)
Needs: script: perl-destribution installed
binary: not released
