SLURM version 2.0 is now available and provides a wide assortment of scheduling capabilities including: advanced resource reservation, fair-share scheduling using hierarchical bank accounts, a wide assortment of resource limits by user and/or bank account, powering down idle nodes and automatically returning them to service on demand, optimized resource allocation taking network topology into consideration, job preemption by priority and support for BLCR (Berkeley Lab Checkpoint Restart).
