It would be great to be able to redirect the audio stream to my squeezebox touch or any streaming device.

The DSbridge project has already implemented this. Perhaps reusing the code would make it very simple to add?

Thanks for a great piece of software. I run shairport4w on wine with great success.

    Hi,
a simple app called wavin2cmd streams audio from a Windows wave in device to either a named pipe or to stdout. This little application is used in a squeezebox plugin called WaveInput: it allows to plays all sounds from PC to the squeezebox.
I think that these sources can be easily used to generate a great http streaming too.

wavin2cmd.exe sources here (coming from this post, thanks pbjbryan)
Compiled Binaries here (with wavin2cmd.exe inside)

I'm looking also for a easy solution to stream to the Logitech Media Server.
As this feature request asks for this, it get's my vote.
For this, Shairport4W would also need a headless option as I have seen in another request.

Hi, I've made a hack to use Shairport4W with squeezebox. As I explained it in the section "How can it be improved ?" section of the topic it is not the most optimized solution but it works...
    You'll find it here :
    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?100048-Announce-Airplay-on-squeezebox-%28for-Windows%29

If only Shairport4W could stream sounds natively ! It could enhance the notoriety of this great software by all the uses offered !
