I would like to suggest the following new rate laws. If a rate law of the form v = f (So) is linearized around the operating point So, we obtain the linear approximation:
v = vo + dv/dSo (S - So)
dv/dSo is the unscaled elasticity at the operating point, So. vo is the reaction rate at the operating point So and S is the input concentration to the equation.
Where to put it? There are a number of possibilities, one is to form a new category under rate law (SBO:0000001 - rate law), called Generalized Rate Laws. However some generalized rate laws are already under modular rate laws, eg Power laws.
