Rainserv take off

Rainserv:
Rainserv is to be a system for distributed generating of rainbow tables over the internet. This project is perfect for communities to create table sets.
This project addresses the scaling issue of the original RainbowCrack written by Zhu Shuanglei.

Rainbow tables:
Rainbow tables are based on Philippe Oechslin “Faster Cryptanalytic Time-Memory Trade-Off”*. This a way of performing fast brute force attacks on hashes.
A normal brute force attack works by generating all possible plain text passwords, then hashing them, and then comparing them to the hash the plain text is searched from.
Once we have rainbow tables, we have a much faster way of searching the plain text because we already generated hashes for all possible plain texts inside the table. (This is simplified much)... read more
