mouse disappears over application after some time

hello.
win11 + putty_nd 8.4, but issue noticed much earlier..
when you open a few windows with several tabs (ssh) - after sometime mouse pointer disappears when you hover it over application.
mouse works and you can point and select text for example - you just cant see the pointer if it over the putty_nd window - so you dont know where it exactly located and this fact makes work very uncomfortable..
and when you move the pointer outside of application - it immediately shows up.
move it over app - it disappears)
I watching this issue couple years on different laptop's with win11 and it happens only for putty_nd.
would be really helpful to understand how to fix this..
thank you!
Sorry for the late.
But I didn't experience that before.
Could you record a gif to show how it behave when the issue happens?
hello,
please check it
Hello there, would you please try to disable the windows native threme? as the pic follows.
btw, I use it on win 11 and I have to check this checkbox in the system settings of app on the Compatibility tab:
button "Change high DPI settings" -> High DPI scaling override -> System.
Please check the screenshot - Screenshot 2025-05-02 104522
because without this settings application look like on second screenshot - Screenshot 2025-05-02 104741 - all buttons on toolbar very small.

Yes, I should put this in the readme.
hello!
disabling "windows native theme" doesnt help unfortunately..
cursor disappears..
I had a try last weekend but failed to reproduce the issue.
I have to write some logs to see what happens.
Please help to run the attachement.
Then send the file named debug.log at the same directory with the exe file to me.
thx!
zip file with 2 occurrences of this issue that happened today - 26.05.2025 around 1PM
another debug - there are at least 3-4 issue
Hi there, thanks for the logs.
The logs shows that it doesn't hide the cursor itself at all during the test.
It could be the system's behavior, which I can't identify.
And I make another build to show the cursor explicitly for each session when it starts.
And hope this workaround would help.
thank you!
I'm starting to check putty-nd.exe.bak
hello!
seems the issue with mouse pointer doesnt appear so far with your last version of app.
but I noticed that after some days running of app I can not open new ssh session - I press "+" button on the tab bar to open configurationg window - and nothing opens. also - any buttons on menu bar doesnt work.
Hi there, I left the app open for the weekend, but the no response "+" button does not happen yet.
I want to ask how often does it happen?
Hi! Usually I open 5-6 windows of putty_nd and each has from 1-2-3 to about 10 tabs.. a lot, yes )
and after some time it stops to open modal config window with all my saved sessions. and after this - it crashes.. I will record small video next time.
this is how it crashes - after 1-2 weeks of opened 2-3 putty_nd windows with ssh sessions (I dont turn off my laptop)
and one time it just stops to react to any buttons on toolbar - I cant open new ssh session via "+" button near tabs (doesnt show this on video) neither restart session by toolbar button.
this is your last binary file from this thread.
it fixed mouse pointer issue but appears this new issue (
Hi there, I just fixed a crash when the Windows system is about to closed and then be canceled. Putty-nd's resource then enter a releasing state and can't be run forward. The new fixed binary is as the attachment. But I am not sure if it is the same issue.
If the crash happens, there should be a file like PuTTY-nd-vv8.4p3.crashreport under the same directory with the putty-nd.exe. It is the plain text callstack of the crash. It can help to identify the crash issue.
thank you! I will check it and get back with feedback)
hello)
It seems your last version is also crashing the same way. Last time, I ran your last putty-nd.exe from your last message (size 11,901,440 bytes, quite large) for 2–3 weeks, and today it also stopped responding to all toolbar buttons.
I’ve attached a new video showing the issue, which is similar to the previous one.
There is no new crash report from today, but I found PuTTY-nd-vv8.4p3.crashreport from 15 July. Perhaps it could be useful if you decide to investigate this issue again.
