Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

I found some errors between portlet-app_1_0.xsd and Java Portlet Specification.pdf(JSR168). It defined the /portlet-app/custom-portlet-mode/name element In JSR168 . In the schema, this element can't find. But it defined a /portlet-app/custom-portlet-mode/portlet-mode element in this schema. Which is right? ===== Your's XX __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com |

I could not get the RssServlet deployed to Pluto (built from CVS on = 11/9/2003) because it appears that you are using an outdated portlet.xml = format. The Pluto deployer complained about things that did not jive = with the current XML-Schema. Attached is a hacked version of your origional one that deployed = correctly. I made this by using the 'test portlet' that comes with Pluto = as a model. You also need add the portlet to portletentityregistry.xml = and pageregistry.xml to get a deployed portlet to function correctly. = This information should be in the docs. I have not tried yet, but I think portlet.xml will need to be modified = in the GooglePortlet too. /Craig <<portlet.xml>>=20 |

I'll get straight to the point. The idea of a repository for portlets is great, but using the GPL as stated on the SourceForge homepage is... dumb (understatement of the day). When will you change it, and what will it be changed to? (BSD/APL/LGPL?) regards, Rickard |
