I'm having the same issue with the 'Adjust Appearance' option. For the majority of my notes, it works fine, but for those where I set a black background, the color resets every time I restart the application! Other colors work fine, but black... no luck! Well, I've still done some investigating! If you choose the predefined black color (basic, web), it doesn't work. But if you set the color in custom with 0 0 1 (or more), it works, the color persists upon restart. If you enter RGB as 000, black disappears....

Also, when I boot up they aren't showing up with their window either. When i show all/group they show up for a split second then disappear again. Any suggestions? Such a great feature! I've tried both versions on multiple pcs.

Hello, I switched from Win7 to Win 11 and installed PNotes.NET 3.8.2.2 again. With every PC restart, as well as after every logout and logon, the note management opens. However, under "General settings" "NO" check mark is set for: "Open note management after program start". Nevertheless, it opens all the time. Is this a bug? And can it be fixed? Can you help me with this problem, please? It would be nice :) Thanks in advance!

I was forced to get a new computer at work and I did a full back up and I thought I did it correctly and saved it 10k times to be sure I didn't lose anything but I still managed to screw it up. But I did also create a text version but as u can imagine years worth of notes... Question I have is.. should the file I use to restore with be named something like: 20231214111025.pnback if it is ... how do you get it to work in the newly install 9.3.0 pnotes? Thanks!

È quello il problema. La versione 9.3 di PNotes non supporta quella funzione, mentre PNotes.Net si. Ti conviene usare quella. Tutto quello che ha creato con la vecchia versione dovrebbe essere compatibile, salvo ovviamente casi particolari, ma spero di no.

Click the PNotes icon into the tray with the right button, then Impostazioni, and finally "Regola automaticamente l'altezza degli appunti a seconda del contenuto". I thnk you are using the italian language interface, right? Let me know if this works.

Strange. What kind of version are you using? I have downloaded PNotes.Net 3.8.2.2 and there is the option to insert a table into the right click menu with the proper option window. I have never tried to copy and paste a table in a note but probably you are using the old PNotes. The new one has the option you need.

Hello. I'm trying to paste or insert a table into a note. I have tried pasting the table from both Excel and Word, and have also looked under "Insert" in the right click menu to insert a table. I do not have the "table" option in the right click menu and no method of pasting a table has been successful. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It would be useful to have had that feature. I think that as a workaround I'll set a reminder for a date in the week that I want to have the repeated reminders begin and when that date arrives I'll change the schedule to weekly. It will have to be a two step process.

No, you can't. The most appropriate way - "Repeat every" schedule type.

Right click on tray icon-->Control Panel-->double click on note (or right clock on note-->Placement/Visibility-->Visibility-->Show) Or you can save the note as desktop shortcut and then just double click on it (note's context menu-->Save As desktop Shortcut)

How does PNote deal with the following scheduling scenario? Starting date (a future date) 3 November 2022 at 19:00. Then repeat on specified days of the week, say, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday only.

I'm trying out PNotes and I like its wealth of features. However, one thing that I haven't discovered is how to open an existing note, say, for editing. Is there a keyboard shortcut, toolbar icon or context menu entry for this task or is the only way to do it by double clicking it?

Hi, Actually I don't support classic PNotes anymore. I just remember that every Pelles C version after 4.5 was a kind of "buggy" in all related to PNotes. It's strange that you managed to compile it at all )))

Just for information, I've downloaded the sources of PNotes 9.3.0 and compiled them with Pelles C 11. Well... The Debug version works correctly, but the Release version may unexpectedly crash - for example, when a note is clicked in PNote's control panel. If I debug the Release version, Pelles C says there is an access violation at this point (when a note is clicked in PNote's control panel). I have no idea why and where it is happening.

I prefer PNotes 9.3.0 since it has all I need and it is faster and more lightweight than the PNotes.NET. I use portable version of PNotes 9.3.0 (exctracted from a zip archive). I love this program - or the potential of it anyway. What I like the most is the promise that users can create their own skins. But after two days of trying, I am unable to get the creator to work. I've tried everything I can think of, saved them in every conceivable folder, used every mirror, and nothing has worked. When I want to save a skin I design in the skin creator, which folder should I save it to? A window pops up to say the skin was saved successfully, but I can't find which folder it ends up in and it doesn't show up in the list of skins in Preferences. Thanks!

I'm seeing what appears to be a bug - I have a note that I want to have 1.5 line spacing. So I use Format > Line Spacing and set it to 1.5, and I do a Save All. But on every restart (either exit and restart PNotes, or more typically in my case, when I restart the PC), the line spacing is lost and it reverts back to 1.0. I did some testing right now, and oddly, if I set it to 3.0, that setting DOES stick after a restart. But 1.5 and 2.0 will not stick, always reverting back to 1.0 line spacing. This...

Hi, Unfortunately there is no way (currently) to do that. The new notification will always load with default sound alarm and you should change it manually. Sorry.

Hello, I'd like to change the acoustic alarm sound to another one as the "Default" for all my notifications. If I change the chosen sound-file to another one it always resets after the notification pop up once back to the "Default" alarm. How can i change the sound file permanent? Absolutely amazing app btw :-D There appears to be a framework to apply a hotkey to an active note to change its group. But the created groups are not listed in the "Notes" tab. Is this an unfinished feature? I'm using v9.3.0 (zip archive - portable) Or is there likely something else wrong?

With AutoHotkey you can customize any hotkey you want for any app (almost).

So PNotes isn't intended to be open-source? (I see it's not mentioned anywhere, but some user reviews are under the impression it is.) Are the DLLs libraries that can be obtained from their source? If the answer to the 2 above questions is no, does the author have a public identity? That can be a substitute when the community isn't able to review the complete code.

I like to verify programs are clean before running them. (I've had a negative experience before.) Since there are DLLs in the source code, does that mean it's not possible to review all the code before building it? The program does look amazing, though!

Hello, I would strongly suggest to put the UAC tip ie. recommended installation path not just at the end of the installation section in the help file, but if possible directly into the setup routine. I had the same problem as the original poster here: installations on Win 8.1 64b either to \Program Files or \Program Files (x86) made the software always hang on splash screen, without ever even displaying a tray icon, from the second time on when trying to start it. I guess it's a matter of recreating Groups and exiting/reopening pnotes. Some of my notes are now back in groups without me manually putting them there. Is it possible to drag n drop a note from the "All Notes" view into individual Groups? If it's not, it should be. LOL sorry I realize it's a free program. I've been using it for so long.
