The LOSURS (http://www.losurs.org/) presentation was to a fairly small group. I had only a rough idea of what I was going to talk about, hoping that questions from the audience would flesh out the presentation. I wrote out an idea web on the blackboard, starting with me in the middle, then branching out to my free software projects: Pledge, Figure, Ocean, and Sand. The summary of each of these can be found on my home page, http://fig.org/gord/. Hans asked if Pledge would be able to replace Microsoft Excel. I said, no, probably not, as Pledge deals primarily with log-structured information. That did get me thinking about the need for Pledge to have some way of expressing relationships between events.
