It would be nice, if playmidi allowed you to specify a beginning and ending bar # to play. This would be useful for those of us using playmidi in conjunction with mup, the music notation program. Mup allows one to create a midi file from the notation, which is useful to verify the accuracy of the notation. But it's tedious to have to play the entire song when you really just want to play bars 45 thru 50.

This feature will be added in the next release of playmidi. I
don't yet know when I will have the time to do this work, but
it's also a feature that I want.

Now that this request is over ten years old, I finally will be working on this feature and have it on my radar for the upcoming 3.0 release.
