I think, 0.4.2-2 will be my last release of Piggy within Sourceforge.
Further development will be at
http://rubyforge.org/projects/piggy/
So from now on, you will be able to install piggy with
gem install Piggy
Check for updates from time to time:
gem update

I've fixed some problems related to
non ASCII characters in image names
and other places.
The html output will now be utf-8.

Piggy's image viewer now has it's own slideshow
mode. If the image contains exif information
about it's orientation, Piggy will automatically
rotate the image.
I also added some basic stylesheets to choose
from.
Please don't hesitate to report bugs.

Hi there,
this patch contains three fixes:
- Two fixes related to file handling.
- One fix related to the time on the ftp-server.
Feel free to report bugs if you find any.
I do not use this stuff often enough to
provide stability and usability without feedback.

The current stable Ruby Windows installer will install FXRuby 1.6 and FXRuby 1.2. Piggy will now use FXRuby 1.6 if it's availiable. As far as I know Piggy should now work with different versions of FXRuby up to version 1.6.
Note that I might remove support for old versions of FXRuby in future versions of Piggy.

The main reason for this release is a major bug in the html generation with frames.
But Piggy also got some new buttons which should improve navigation. The "back"-button for example is quite usable if you change into a new directory by clicking a Windows shortcut and want to get back to where you've been before.
As usual: The release includes the complete list of changes.

As Javascript is in widely use, I added an open source library found at http://www.barelyfitz.com/projects/slideshow/.
You'll notice the image preselection on directory
changes. I found it quite time saving and a lot more intuitive. It will slow Piggy down if you
use the preview pane, which should be disabled
by default.
The new RMagick support was easy to implement but image processing is a lot slower than with the other modes. Decide for yourself. This version of Piggy will allow different types of images in all modes. You'll notice that the Nconvert mode will convert every input into jpg-images. I like it that way but this could easily be changed. ... read more
Hi,
I've done a small patch release for the
piggy ftp browser.
I must say that I use this part of Piggy much more
often than the image gallery stuff.

As more people getting fast access to the net
via DSL I often get requests to the complete
set of images in higher quality and as a single
download. Thanks to rubyzip this was quite easy to
add to Piggy.
No bugfixes in this release, sorry.
Added editable image comments.
The new version should also be more stable with newer versions of FXRuby (e. g. 1.2.* or 1.4.*)
Have a look at the release notes to get more details.

Found a bug in Piggy's FTP time reprensentation; btw. I added some buttons.

Just a small patch. I didn't use the image and html generation part of Piggy for some time but found and fixed two minor bugs in the ftp browser.
I've done the homepage changes reflecting the new gem packaging and installation. I also corrected the sourceforge categories for Piggy. It's now listed as platform independent and including a FTP browser.
Piggy packaging changed, see installation instructions in the release notes for details. I also did some minor changes to get rid of my own Windows specific code on non Windows platforms.
Image rotation in 0.4 was broken. I decided to change the release numbering to allow minor versions and patch releases. In this sense, 0.4 was a patch for 0.3 which now is included in patch 0.3.0-1.
Added a standalone directory_diff and fixed some problems with the integrated ftp_browser.
Integrated some new features (yaml, rotate, ftp)
Try out ftp_browser.rb which will start the integrated browser as a standalone application.
Keep in mind that piggy is not properly tested, yet.
I've got some refactorings to do now.
Next step planned ist a linux port.

I decided to release a new version althoug the changes are not as big as someone might expect. Take it as a hint that development has not stopped.
I did my best to translate the original german homepage. You can check it out by navigating to the "Home Page" link at the site summary.
So much for today.
Sascha
I just recognized that sf accepted my project. I am going to setup an english homepage for Piggy as soon as possible. For now I'll point you to the german homepage
