We presented this at LabMan so I had to throw it up for other people to check out. This code require EvoCam or some other webcam software and a magcard swipe, but for $50 you can turn an iBook and an iSight into a mobile attendance system.
There are a number of bug fixes in this release that we made when we started using the software for even more classes this semester. We've been using some form of this code to run our checkout for 3 years to I thought it had been long enough to call it "stable". The software still lacks an admin interface for adding students and kits, but anyone familiar with phpmyadmin and primary keys will have no problem getting up and running.
It's been a while since I even looked at this project, but at long last development as begun. As I type this I have a large diagram next to me of the database structure and some of the basic design decisions on what I want to code in from the beginning and keep room for to be added in later. Expect more stuff soon.
