Hey,
As the new version of phpeasynews is getting more towards a blog, and as blogs are 'in', i've decided to change the name to reflect this. So the next version of phpeasynews will be called (rather imaginatively!) phpeasyblog. The next version is almost finished, i'm just finalising the installation script.
Updates in the new version includes:
- Install/Upgrade script...
- More efficent
- Comments system. Allows users to post their own comments and edit/delete their own comments.... read more
Hello,
Just a quick note to say that if you have E_NOTICE on in the php.ini (most ISP's tend to have it off anyway) you will get errors in the current version (switch it off as a temp fix).
The next version has all these errors fixed, so no errors should show in E_ALL...
Sorry folks for those who are having these problems... await the next version :D
The next version is way into production already, and a comment system has been added with the capacity to allow users to edit their own comments (should they be registered).... read more
I've had some FTP problems with uploading the new releases recently, so if you have downloaded something which doesn't work, please download it again the uploads seemed to have gotten corrupted.
Should be fine now
Sorry folks,
Brett
Hey,
Eventually i've released V1.13 RC2, this update has a number of bug fixes and new features, and so I recommend you update from RC1 (There is an easy way to upgrade, follow the onscreen instructions)
Thanks all,
Brett
Hey,
I've been working on v1.13 RC2 for a while now, and i'm still adding new features etc every day (I keep thinking it's ready to release then add something else!) however you can see the latest version "live" on my blog at http://www.brettandbutter.co.uk. I've also mentioned some features on a post down the page.
Basically the major changes are the emotion system and the new upgrade script, as RC1 users will be able to upgrade very easily, just overwrite all the files and run the script and your previous posts/user infomation will not be lost (providing you provide the same database infomation in the upgrade).... read more
Hey all,
The first patch has been released, this fixes a css bug i've found (Basically it would have altered your page CSS) this has now been fixed, and I apologise for this bug!
This has NOT been added to the current release of RC1, so please download this after you have downloaded RC1 and replace the two files included.
Thanks
Brett Jenkins
Hey,
Firstly V1.12 RC1 has now been released, I recommend you download it :D
Also PHPeasynews will be getting it's own website as part of the brand new www.brettjenkins.co.uk. You can access phpeasynews at www.brettjenkins.co.uk/phpeasynews, although currently it redirects here after a few seconds, it does house a manual for RC1, so check it out!
I'll be working on brettjenkins.co.uk over the next few days so keep an eye on it :D... read more
Hey all,
A new release of PHPeasynews is on the way, this has loads more features, a more complex member system and loads of bugs have been fixed. It is also the most beta tested version out of the lot, so it will be the most stable...
People using v1.11 Beta are recommended to upgrade due to loads of bug fixes and if you are still using V1.1 0 Alpha, where have you been!
The v1.11 Beta included a version check, if you check this it will automatically tell you when the new version is out and ready to download, so keep an eye on it ;).... read more
Hey,
Come across a few bugs:
1) Broken link to newsarchive
2) Admin.php & post.php do the same thing
3) Edit.php asks you to click on a link to access the page, however the link to access the page has not been set up yet (File was not supposed to be released). You should however be able to edit a post by manually inserting the news id in the url.
Sorry for these bugs, but as it's a beta, these bugs will not be fixed in a patch, the RC's will fix these bugs, and add new features (suggestions welcome!)... read more
Hey,
The PHPeasynews beta has been released.
As mentioned the new release includes:
1) A install script to guide you through installation
2) A version checker to make sure you have the latest version!
Thanks guys
Brett
Hey,
You may wonder whats been happening to PHPeasynews over the past year, well i've been busy with other projects so new versions were put on hold. However, a beta version of PHPeasynews is on the way (yes we are skipping the Alpha version, due to the major changes since Pre-Alpha).
There will be:
An easier way to install the script and an easier way to ensure you have the latest version, which are two major updates.... read more
Hey,
The very first version of PHPeasynews has been released as a Pre Alpha!
I am now starting to look for Developers to help with the project. However as Christmas is coming - production will be slowed down...
Any feedback on the Pre Alpha would be greatly appriciated :D
Thanks
Hello and welcome to a brand new project!
I'm currently building the alpha release. I'm not sure when i'll release it as i'm still building the project from scratch.
Currently I have made the news output file and have a input file. This is not yet password protected and you cannot yet edit you're files. This will be written in the coming days/weeks.
Due to Christmas approaching us I feel that the first beta/stable releases wont be till the new year. The Pre Alpha and Alpha may be released before the new year but as I'm still building and improving it I can't really have a sense of timescale.... read more
