syncing between drop box and android phone. When I open pwsafe on phone I see recent files and the dates. By the recency of the date it is obvious that it was just synced from D. Box. But in another discussion here Jeff mentioned that I should see the name of the source, drop box in this case, associated with the database. I'm not seeing that when I open pwsafe on my android phone.

Also where is the copy that syncs from drop box kept on an android phone? I don't see it in downloads.

Perhaps it should look something like this in the top right hamburger menu (at a level above "Files"). This screenshot is for OneDrive after selecting files with PasswdSafe Sync. The icon for Dropbox would be different than the OneDrive cloud icon, of course. Actual file location in Android is probably protected from view.

Thanks Mick. That did clear it up. I needed to click the 3 bars top left to display that page. Curiously the time label for the file in recent files is 10 minutes later than the file that shows in Drop Box.

I will just leave it out there; if anyone knows where the file is kept on Android phones that is synced with Drop box. I can only find one .psafe3 file in downloads on the phone, when pwsafe is showing 2 recent files available.

The files stored with PasswdSafe Sync are in an app-private directory. They should not be accessible other apps.

If using the Sync app, open the files from your sync account in that top-left menu. Don't open the file from the Dropbox app or from the bottom-right file chooser.

Hi Jeff, how does password sync work?
I understand that when I use the app and hit the sync button then the database that is on my phone is synced with the file that is on Dropbox but is it just a one-way Street? by that I mean if I modify the database for password safe on my phone will that then be updated in Dropbox? In other words, does the syncing go both ways?

The sync is two-way. The app periodically or when requested looks for changes locally or in your account and copies the files one way or the other as needed.

    Thanks.
I tried an experiment. I modified the PWSafe database on my pc. I then dropped that file into Dropbox. I synced the dropbox file using the password sync app on my phone. I opened it with the Password safe icon that is in the PWsafe sync app on my phone. The test modification did not appear in the file that opened on my phone.
I made sure that I had no other PWsafe files on my phone.

I think your PC platform and phone platform aren't treating the database file as the same file. What happens if you change your experiment parameters to this: On the PC with PWSafe, open the database file that's on Dropbox (I assume you have a local Dropbox folder on the PC that Dropbox automatically syncs with the cloud), modify it, and save by applying or closing the entry.  Dropbox should automatically upload to your Dropbox account on the Internet. PasswdSafe Sync should automatically see that the database file in your Dropbox cloud account has been changed and download it to your phone in the background. When you run PasswdSafe on your phone, selecting the named database file you want to use (it should normally present itself to open), I'll be surprised if you don't find the modified file.
