p2pCommunity 0.05 released

p2pCommunity is the next generation of P2P softwares. It have a unique community system that allow users to found other people with the same interests. It currently have chat and file transfer.
This release add major modifications to the chat system: the addition of font selection and color to the chat, addition of Instant Messaging (click with the right mouse button on the user in the user list) and a encryption system - now all conversations are encrypted using powerfull RSA encryption. Besides this, a new P2P connection system, using a user tree was added. The PHP Webserver is also working better. Another great addition is the Updater, which allow users to automatically update the program. This allow the developers to release daily builds in the Internet to correct bugs.... read more

p2pCommunity 0.04 released

p2pCommunity is the next generation of P2P softwares. It have a unique community system that allow users to found other people with the same interests. It currently have chat and file transfer.
The version 0.04 add two major features - a powerfull plugin framework that allow developers to create custom plugins, and a new kind of community server - PHP WebServer, that replaces the software server and only need a PHP-enabled website with a MySQL database.
The GUI has also been redesigned and is much better now. Many bugs have been fixed.

p2pCommunity v0.03 Released!

A new version of p2pCommunity was released. This version main changes are in the file sharing system. Now the program can transfers files up to 10MB. The file deployment systema has aslo changed. Now the program is deployed through a setup file, and the source code is avilable only through the CVS repository. Other minor changes are in the code changes sections of the readme or in the file release notes.

p2pCommunity v0.02 released

p2pCommunity is a peer-to-peer program for small and medium communities share files and to the members talk to each other.

This is the second release, but it already have two major features of the program: text chat and file transfer. Both are limited: the chat is only plain text, without smiles, colors, bold, and the file transfer can transfer only files up to 1MB. The client name has changed to peer to better reflect the structure of the network. Also, a major bug that prevented the 0.01 version to work has been corrected.... read more

p2pCommunity v0.01 released

p2pCommunity is a peer-to-peer program for small and medium communities share files and to the members talk to each other.

This is the first release, and has only limited functionality, but is possible to see the potential of the program. In the version 0.01, I've created a simple server and client programs. The p2p network needs a central program (the server), which have all the nicknames and IP addresses of the current connected users. To a client connect to the network it connects to the server and send its nickname and IP address. Then, the server sends the nicknames and IPs of the others connected clients. In this version, the client is able to use this info to send a message (like instant messaging) to another connected user.... read more
