Orbit FAQ / News: Recent posts

Version 0.1.2 Beta 1 includes major mods to include support for MySQL 4 and register_globals being Off. This should mean that OrbitFAQ can be installed on more servers.

OrbitFAQ has completed testing and is now released as a stable 0.1.1 Release.

The latest beta is available with a lot of new functionality and bug fixes!

I have created a Trac environment for OrbitFAQ which can be accessed from http://dev.orbitservices.net/orbitfaq/

this will be the new project site and will be used for version control, wiki, tickets and roadmaps.

Version 0.1.1 Beta 7 is now packaged and available. Changes Include:

1: Modifying Question FAQ Problem - Admin Panel - Admins
Resolved issues with Questions being assigned to Incorrect FAQs when change Categories FAQs

2: Modify Question/Answer - Save Answer As New - Admin Panel - Questions
Adding function to allow admins to create a previously assigned answer as a new answer.

3: Add User Groups to assign to FAQs - Admin Panel - Admins

I have started managing the Tasks for Version 1.0 through Sourceforge so you can now see the tasks I want to complete prior to Version 1.0.0 release.

Im expecting this to be end of October at this stage depending on how much time I can throw at it.

An OrbitFAQ Wiki is now available for this project, at this stage I have uploaded the components required for installing and configuration orbit faq.

I have also added a new Package/Release which contains the full set of documents that is bundled within the OrbitFAQ Help Module.

Version 0.1.1 Beta 5 has been released and contains;
+ Bug Fixes for issues with deleting Answers that we assigned to other questions
+ New Help Guide now available in Administration Panel

+ Modified relationship between Questions and Answers to allow many to one relationship between Many Questions and a Single Answer.

OrbitFAQ Version 0.1.1 Beta 3 has been released with some major enhancements including the following:

+ Add Version Notification (be notified in orbitfaq admin panel when a new version is available)
+ Added Super Admin access level. Super Admins are the only users who can add or manage Administrators.
+ Added FAQ Management by Administrators
+ Added FAQ Access Control selection to Admin Management
+ Added checks to ensure that admins do not try to get around FAQ Access Control at the FAQ, Categories and Question level (i.e. Admins can not add a new category to a FAQ they dont have access to)

Please note that the way that versions are displayed for Orbit FAQ have change. Example is the current version is Version 0.1.1 Beta 3 (or 0.1.1.3) which is actually major.minor.servicepack.beta (if applicable)

Orbit FAQ Version 0.1 Beta 2 has been released with some bug fixes and details can be found below.

This is just a quick notice to let you know that a Public Alpha Version is on its way. Currently I have got the front-end working with all the features I originally had in mind including;

+ Multiple FAQs with Multiple Categories
+ Multiple ways of viewing the Q&A's
+ Option to Allow Question Posting
+ Question Posting enabled with email notification to moderator
