Currently, OpenSong’s presentation mode supports only songs and Bible texts. It would be highly beneficial to allow users to directly integrate multimedia content such as images and videos into their presentations. This enhancement would enable users to create more engaging and dynamic presentations without having to exit presentation mode and modify the content via the editor.

OpenSong supports set item types Song, Scripture, but also custom Slides, Image, business presentation (PowerPoint and Impress), video (VLC) and other external programs all handled by inserting a set item of type External into the set.

When it comes to business presentations, there are extensions in the current development version to support incremental steps (I don't remember what they are called, but what I mean is for example adding bullet points one by one on the same slide).

Video control is lacking, but can be set up, using command line parameters or by setting up VLC to show it's controls on the presenter screen.

Could you explain what you mean by "without having to exit presentation mode and modify the content via the editor". Is this related to your request for images and videos, or is this an additional request for a quick edit feature, enabling the user to edit the song or custom slide currently displaying for the audience?

For example I have 2 slides and I click on "Present two screens""sometimes we forgot to add an photo/video. There is no shortcut to add an image. You need to exit your slide and add an external (foto, video) etc. Because when you present your slide you can only add songs, bible verse without leaving the slide. I can also send a screenshot what I mean

    Hi,
thank you for your response. I understand what you are talking about. I occasionally had similar requirements in the past.

With the current structure of the program, and the capabilities if the framework used for programming this app, it is not easy to provide access to the editors for creating slides with more complexity than selecting a song or a Scripture.

What I did was using a program called ScreenMonkey, a free program for Windows that, among other more advanced stuff, is able to freeze the current screen. This then allowed me to shut down presentation mode, do my editing of the set and restart the presentation, all without any distraction on the presentation screen.

Occasionally I even started a second instance of OpenSong so I could edit the set there, before switching over behind the frozen screen. I guess this would be possible in some cases without freezing the screen with minor or even no disturbance on the screen.

Thinking about this now, gave me some ideas to maybe incorporate enhancements in this regard into OpenSong itself in the future. Thank you.
