A FAQ page has been posted on http://www.openrdl.com to provide basic information while the proper website is still under development. Have a look on the site for details of the project, release date, license information, etc.
I have added a new screenshot of a sales order RDL print preview to show progress in this area. Tables, borders, font styles, images, datasources and expressions are all demonstrated in this sample.
Over the last few weeks we have been focussing on improving the direct print functionality of the OpenRDL engine, and on migrating to the iTextSharp PDF library for PDF creation. At the same time our layout code is being given a general overhaul to improve the seperation between layout and rendering.
At the same time we have been working on creating a set of test scripts to test the print/PDF code, and working (still) on the website. More news coming soon.
For those who stumble across this project we are currently in the middle of development. Our development plan is prioritised as follows:
1. Build a reusable .net Assembly that will parse and process an RDL report. Our guiding principle is to make this output exactly as per Microsoft's Reporting Services
2. Build renderers for PDF, printing to printer, HTML
3. Create OpenRdl Report Webservice
4. Create OpenRdl Report Site (HTML based report manager)
