#20 gcc 3.2 search/browse across servers

latest opennap-ng CVS, it compiles fine and runs fine.

This server has redhat 9 with gcc 3.2 installed. For
some reason when compiled with gcc 3.2, searches and
browses only work when on the same server, it won't
search across servers or gets 0 results from the other
servers. If I copy a binary compiled on another PC
with gcc 2.96, searches and browsing works again.

The file sizes are very different too:

opennap with 3.2

Is there a way to fix this, or am I missing a compiler
directive?
