The Lorien OS subproject has been forked into its own top-level project on sourceforge, check it out at http://lorienos.sourceforge.net/

The component model has undergone a significant change affecting all existing code in that the standard "binding" parameter has been removed. This simplifies code and increases efficiency in various ways. Check the forums if you want to discuss it. Lorien has a collection of bug fixes and a complete file propagation plane based on Deluge.

OpenCom 1.5.0 and Lorien 2.4 released. All users are advised to upgrade to these versions, which contain major improvements and various bug fixes. Users of Lorien will need to familiarise themselves with the new configuration file technology which enhances abstraction, reusability and independence of re/configuration operations. The new package also contains the first version of the OpenArchitect graphical system composition tool. Documentation including tutorials will be updated shortly.

Both the OpenCom component model and Lorien pure dynamic component OS have received major upgrades; all users are urged to update to these versions. OpenCom is generally smaller and faster, while Lorien has been massively upgraded with conventions governing safe & efficient reconfiguration supported by framework layers, along with a large number of performance enhancements, bug fixes and additional driver, library and application components. Lorien has received a significant upgrade package, now included with the OpenCom 1.3.7 download. A collection of bug fixes, expanded component base, generic configuration file generation support, and streamlined puredynamics are among the highlights - see release notes for more.

Lorien also now has a more substantial collection of tutorials (see http://opencomc.sourceforge.net/lorien/\) and an expanded component base.

The next update of OpenCom is now available, and comes with the first release of the Lorien operating system (currently available for Tmote Sky / TelosB platforms). Lorien is a dynamic-to-the-core operating system built with the OpenCom component model; we'll be creating a series of tutorials for it over the coming weeks.

A general update of OpenCom has been uploaded, with various bug fixes, improvements and feature additions. See the release's associated change log for a full list of changes.

Note that there is one API change which makes this version non-backwards-compatible, relating to how the bind() call works (it has been significantly simplified).

Attempting to compile code designed for OpenCom v1.1 against the 1.2 APIs will generate errors which should clearly identify the (minimal) areas affected.
