I'm generally impressed with with what you have done so far, and am a string supporter of yuor project!

However, I can't find a way to insert or remove an anchor point from an existing line, or area.
I think this is < fundamental editing task in a mapping tool like this.

I also urge you to find a better way of doing this than OCAD, which is really clumsy on this point. I am much in favor of the Adobe Illustrator way.

To insert a point, select the path with the edit tool and hold Ctrl while clicking on a place on the path where no point exists yet. You can even move the cursor while holding the mouse button down to immediately position the new point. To delete a point, hold Ctrl while clicking on an existing point.

This comes up again and again. It should be advertised more clearly.

It's more or less same as in OCAD. Maybe put those (unnessacary) buttons for + and - points to make OCAD-addicts that haven't found out shortcuts to find the tool? I love that F8 F7 F9 F10 is same! And so much better in OOM with scrollzoom and arrows to move map!

    a) The status bar text which explains the options is yery long. It could be presented more eye-catching, at least after some time of inactivity.

    b) The context menu (right mouse button) could adjust to interactions provided by the current tool.
