This project has been renamed to Laser Tactics, to better represent its style and its Laser Squad roots.
I've only just realised (thanks to a helpful email) that the version of Nuclear Graveyard that's been available for the last two months is in a corrupt zip file. I've checked the new version, and that will unzip okay.
The Nuclear Graveyard forums have moved! The old forums (provided by Forumer) were constantly being spammed, so the new location is:-
Nuclear Graveyard, the 3D pseudo-realtime squad-based multiplayer online strategy game, has been improved with the 1.05 release. With a new improved tutorial several tweaks to the optimisation, there's never been a better time to join in the fun!
It's been a long time since I last released a version, but I think the user interface needed some improvements. Now the whole game can be controlled with just the cursor keys using menus. I've still kept the kayboard shortcut for "power-users" though.
The full sourcecode to Nuclear Graveyard has now been released and is available for download. Feel free to submit improvements or send in your emails of general awe at its amazingness.
Nuclear Graveyard can seem a bit complex at first, even with the tutorial. So I have written a Quickstart guide to enable players to get up and running quickly. Find it at http://ngrave.pbwiki.com/QUICKSTART
I've only got the one server to host as many games as I can, and it's not the most powerful computer in the world. Can anyone out there host a game of Nuclear Graveyard? There are quite a few missions now, and the more games/missions that can be hosted, the more variety there will be. Thanks for all offers.
N-Grave now has a new web page at http://ngrave.pbwiki.com. Yes, it's a wiki, as is the trend these days, and hopefully those who play the game will add their own hints, tips and instructions.
Nuclear Graveyard has now passed out of beta and is fully layable and complete, though more missions are to be added. The latest version fixes bugs and improves latency.
Now that the Nuclear Graveyard code has bedded down and is reasonably stable, playtesters are required in order to thoroughly play the game to destruction. If you wish to help, please email me. Thanks!
As well as turning, actual movement is done locally on the clients to improve response times now. If you have a version < 0.95, please upgrade!
I've been playing with the software and improving the latency, and have now uploaded a new version which should now respond a lot better, espcially when turning.
A new version of Nuclear Grave has been released. As well as various minor improvements, it also has a new Ghost feature, allowing you to see the game through the eye's of a unit not directly under your control.
The Nuclear Graveyard forums have just been opened at http://ngrave.forumer.com/. Needless to say, they are a bit sparse at the moment as no-one has posted in the 2 minutes since I set them up. However, I'll be monitoring them for any questions and comments.
The first release of Nuclear Graveyard has been uploaded ready for playtesting. There are currently two servers to connect to, each with a different mission. More coming soon.
