The update server host changed policies, and no longer hosts my files.
This means no currently released NMC files can update any more.
AnimPlayer 2009 was awailable for a short time through the update server only, this it is no longer true.
Anyone who want to get NMC/AniMplayer can only get 2.8a build 1 for now.
Since the update system was currently under revision, this unforeseen event ultimately invalidated any reason to keep compatibility with the old update system. The already written code will be trashed, this allows us to concentrate on the 2010 release, which is due to arrive at q4 this year.
AniMplayer 2009 might get released however anytime, soon after I find another free host for the update files.

I am looking for skilled C#2.0 help both for Linux Mono devs and testers. Also happy with any windows .net2.0 devs.

Translators wanted. We need to re-evaluate existing translations as well.

NMC Organizer got updated. It now supports lycoris, and the option Hide Borders now works.

NMC player 2.8a build 1 released.
Fixed an unfortunate bug:
-fixed: Fullscreen bug, unhandled exception in win32 api. It does not concern Linux users.

You can get it via the built-in update, or download it here. As usual, you only need to update the executabe. ( NMCrelease0028b1.zip )

NMC player 2.8a just got released.
It is a mono port of NMC player 2.7a build 4, plus many bugfix, and additions. It now runs under linux.
Some features are still unstable under linux.
The mono/Linux port is called AniMplayer codename Lycoris. Linux user need only NMCrelease0028.zip (~400k), as they have to pre-install MPlayer and Mono in their system.

Lycoris is fully Windows compatible, it has all the features of Vombat ( 2.7a or older ).
Extra additon is the Desktop playback feature working more or less under XP and Vista, but disables aero ( for now ).... read more

NMC player 2.7a build 4 is an importantstep to version 2.8a since it contains many bugfixes.

Changes in 2.7a b4 after 2.7a first build:
-Fixed: Ocassionally, Playlist did not get saved, whenever an entry has been added, or removed.
-Fixed: Playlist did not get loaded even if it got saved.
-Fixed: Ocassional Playlist bug, when you pressed the END button, it threw an exception.
-Fixed: Playlist bug, when you removed the currently selected/played back entry,
and then pressed the HOME button, it also threw an exception.
-Fixed: ScreenSaver is disabled when in fullscreen mode.
-Fixed: Ctrl+O (and similar) hotkey fix
-Added: Update option
-Fixed: Both the audio, and subtitle track change menu items reflect the currently useg audio or subtitle tracks at the menu.

NMC player 2.7a Build 2 is released, and the original files were removed from the webiste, since it contained an awfull bug, which originates from the bug in the build environment.

Also fixed the playlist order bug which was also present at 2.6a, and later builds.
This build has Drag and Drop support finally, so you can Drag and Drop files into the player or the playlist windows, and NMCp will act accordingly.
Since this release contains bugfixes, even for breaking changes in 2.7a, you are advised to download the build 2. If you were lucky enought to download the first buil in the short time intervall of half day, you might want to download the binaries only NMCrelease0027b2.zip from the downloads.

I mentioned previously that a maintenance release is under way. Well this is it.
Mostly bug fixes, and small echantments, performance upgrades.
Two changes worth mentioning:
The playlist window has been updated, and now you can choose wheter to jump to the next entry in the playlist or not.
The playlist and playslist order windows, can be opened separately.

If you are interested about Chloe, we are at internal version 0.0.0.5 and most of the features ar prety much working now. The only problem is that we experience previously unforeseen freezes, due to the new polling aproach it uses to get the current playback position from mplayer. There is a bug coming with it, which can be avoided by finetuning, the timers, but that's not an option, since every computer has different processing speed. So I have to find a way to fix this bug.

NMC player Mirelle developement has been stoped, for an unknow time. It certainly will be resumed sometime around.
NMC player Vombat is prety much working, and a maintanence release is under way. The playlist is going to change again a little, to support the Mirelle way probably, but more importantly, you'll be able to choose whether to jump to the next entry or not. I'm announcing the developement of NMC player Chloe, which is currently at version 0.0.0.3, and not open source, neighter downloadable.(Since it's an internal version) The versioning logic is the same as for Vombat, except, that only the builds which are noted are considered stable. (in Vombat odd versions represents testing release)
Chloe is written and built in VC++, and currently both x86-32 and x86-62 builds are made.
Point of Developement:
- To provide an NMC player Vombat like, lightweight application, to be run from USB drives, pendrives, etc, without the need of installation.
- To be able to play back almost anywhere:
- React OS support: 3.3 or later
- Windows support: NT, and NT based systems, w2k, XP, XPmce, XPx64, Vista 32-64 or later
Thus Clhoe will be eighter called NMC player USB edition, NMC player portable or something alike.
Watch out if something will come out!

NMC player 2.6a got published by XtremPC RO at their PC gaming and technology oriented newspaper's CD and DVD disks. Thoughm they did not asked for permission (as they don't need to ask), like ComputerBild Italia did, but I'm happy with it. It's gonnabe a tradition, that I post news about such publications. :D

The Translation Team manager resigned, thus the title is free to give it to someone else.
The ideal participant is anyone who knows eighter english or hungarian, nationality does not counts.
His/Her rules will be to organize the translation work, get the right people for the time-to-time translations, staying in contact with them.
Recruit more translators, and make more and more languages awailable for NMC player.

The second NMC player logo designing constest is here!
You can subbmit your ideas for the logo, which will be used for a long long time.
1. It should look real nice, and use alpha channel.
2. Should make it clear thats it's for a Media/Video application.
3. It may artisticly resemble Mirelle from the Noir anime series. Since she's the codename came from.
4. It may somewhat resemble any of the previous NMC player logos, like the Vombat classic (2.4a), Vombat Gold(after 2.6a), Vombat USTEAM special(after 2.6a B3).

Hiya peeps!
I've just released a lil tool, the NMC organizer.
This stuff can tile nmcp windows more smartly than windows would do. This is only for widnows.

I've also uploaded the nmcp 2.6a build 4 Usteam edition executable, and patch, and source. The source were awailable at svn anyway.

Sadly I have no time to work on mirelle yet, but the team Haxlin, and me are going to participate at the Sakura con. We made some background material, and T-shirts are under way. ... read more

The Vombat code has been moved from the trunks dir into the branches, as Mirelle (not yet released) will be the only one in the trunks.
The USTEAM special is uploaded to SVN. You can grab and build it.
The latest version of NMC player awailable now is Vombat 0.0.2.6.04 (2.6a Build 4) which has the revision number of 14 at the SVN server. Don't be confused. Those revision numbers at SVN doesn't count much.

NMC player Video tutorials are available for anyone to visually learn how to use NMC player.
It also functions as showcase for those who interested, how advanced this player is or, how easy to use, how does it look like, how does it work, so basically for anyone who might visit the page.

NMC player 2.6a has been released. We have the standard install pack, a minimal pack, and two packs with .NET3 redistributable, for 32bit, and for x64 platform, and of course the source.
I beleive thsi release became prety nice. Everyone using odler releases should update, except in extreme cases when it might not work due to some unforseen and very misterious reasons.
Due to sou much people had problems with the .NET2 installation, these install pacakages check if .NET2 is peresent already or not.
Approximetely seventy percent of the bugs in user bugreports were orginated in missing .NET2 installation.... read more

which is reasonably faster than the old one. Also I disabled this SFforum simply because it's slower than the forums, and offers less functionality, like no search in the topics.

NMC player 2.5a installer package has been uploaded and is awailable for download, as well as the 2.5a executable only package, and the source code package. Also I uploaded a fixed 2.4a intall + .NET package, which actually contains the latest .NET redist pack. 2.5a install packs with .NET installers are in process of uploading at the time this summary is written.
As testing results show, 2.5a works fine under Vista with aero Glass, however keep in mind that, this is experimental, so if any errors occure, please do not throw it away, but ask for technical support.

Somehow later however, but 2.5a is out! Accidentally, things has happened etc, so we are late, with 2.5a, and 2.6a, we are sorry for that, but well, in the end it's here! Check it out, it has bunch of new functionality, actually the exe is more than eight times larger, therefore it consists of approx. eight time more lines of code.
It works under Vista almost absoluetly functional, but the Video playback is only built in for teting purposes for Vista Aero Glass. If you use aero glass and experience difficulties, try to switch it for for the time of the playback. Vista Ultimate is not supported in this version, however it was developed and entirely tested under Vista. That's exactly why I say it's not supported. :D So in the end it should be a fine partner for everyday use under Vista's not haveing Glass at all.
Only the executable awailable for now, the install pack will be awailable very soon, probably even today, or tomorrow. Documentation and changelogs, will be awailable later on. It sould be familiar however to those who met 2.4s before.

Starting with 2.7a NMC will have a different codename, it will be Aero glass ready, and have a way better looking even without aero.
As for 2.5a, I'm still working on it, as well as my testers, it's nightbuilds are under heavy testing for 5 weeks now, and probably in one week from now every planned functions will be implemented. That will be followed, by another long testing period. One thing I can assure you about. It will be out soon, because we want 2.6a to be out before X-mas, and as 2.5a is 2.6a's predecessor, we are working on it heavily.

This project started as a noname project, and it's internal name was VideoPlayer codename Vombat. Vombat basicaly means nothing, it's just a misstype of Combat, which refers to the very basic idea of why the hell I develop, and someone uses this program. The answer is easy. One day I woke up, and said, how fine it would be if we have had a GUI (Graphical user Interface) wich can be used for every day purposes, so it has playlist, and a play button...
But there wasn't any GUI out there, even in the outskirts of the internet, wich could fulfill my wish. I as beeing a Junior Programmer, felt, that there is need for stuff like that.
Finally I decided to write my own solution. It's Combat because it had to best several other GUI's out there, and I'm alone had to make something better. Well it's been a year now, and the developement just goes-on, and on, but the Age of Vombat will be ended with the NMC release 2.6Alpha. NMC 2.5a requires a bit more work, than usualy it would, as it would be the last testing Vombat release. I herby grant the permission to call Vombat 2.5a and 2.6a

Dear Users!

The NMC2.4alpha installation pack which has .NET2.0 inside accidentally has the .NET2.0 Compact framework sp1, therefore the application wont work!

I'm planning to fix it, but I'm working on the 2.5a release, and also on several other applications, and it's university for me, so I'll only update it after the 2.5alpa release.

However I made this mistake, I would have appriciated if someone reported it. So Dear users, please report ANY bugs you find, and if you would like, you can post your ideas, and suggestions too to me.... read more
